I hit a pigeon with the Cobra on the drivers side headlamp. I was glad I was in town or it could have gotten really messy. I friend of mine had some friends in his car and wanted to show them what the car could do and caught a bird with the drivers side mirror when the windows were down. He was going around 110 and it made a mess of the passengers in the back seat.

A gull is a pretty hefty bird, I bet that made a thump.

That it did. The flying rat lifted off the road and I knew it was going to get him. Couldn't change lanes and whump road kill.

Driving down a rural road flushed a covey of Quail. As they flew towards the car I yelled big shot gun and yelled, "Bang, Bang!" as I pointed to where each of two hit the windshield. Stopped and picked em up and later had em for supper.

My nephew that was with me was freaked out. It looked like I shot them with my finger.

The best part was no shot to worry about breaking a tooth on.

If the ducks are flying they are called a flock, a raft when paddling around in the water.

I hit a crow or large grackle while driving the 914. I had the roof off and he came in the car brushing my ear and bounced off the rear window and landed in the empty passenger seat. It was flapping around so I grabbed it and flipped it straight up. It landed on the windshield of a pickup behind me. The pickup driver was no happier than I was. I found black feathers all over the car for quite a while.

My trip to California in 2014 was free of animal death. On the other two trips to Cali I killed something on both trips. One road runner and one deer. The road runner caused no damage. The deer was a really really BIG bug or rock chip.

Still tickles me. Friend driving along in he brand new 76 Toyota Corolla at 20mph in front of HS. Great Dane runs out from between some houses across the street from the school right smack dab into the passenger side of the Corolla, then takes off back into the neighborhood. The whole side of the Corolla is smashed in, it was totaled. Felt sorry for my friend, he was so proud of his new car, but we just couldn't stop laughing.

A deer hit the 911 a few years ago. He basically tried to jump over the hood but didn't make it. He ran off after trashing the car. Luckily, he left a tuft of fur(probably from his fata$$) so at least I had evidence for the police.

Had a deer run into the rear door of our Blazer once. The hit moved the vehicle to the side. He then tumbled into the minivan behind me.

My wise hit a deer when she was pregnant with our daughter. The incident triggered labor.

Oh yeah, it was a beautiful day here today. I cut down a box elder and cleaned up the debris that accumulated along the back fence. Gave the dog a bath, too.

Hmm let me see...the list so far...

A gallah, many pigeons, many buggies, several kangaroos, several snakes, a dingo, and two cows.

Oh Haha 04-28-2015 12:02 PM

What, no wallabe?:D

Jim Richards 04-28-2015 12:05 PM

Running errands and picking up supplies for our work on the house. Warm, sunny, breezy...what's new? :D

Jim Richards 04-28-2015 12:08 PM

Got a bit more sun than I should have yesterday, while cleaning up the landscaping and chasing after Wayne's wallaby.

The wallabies are roped in with the roos. Oh, I should add a 5hitload of Christmas Island red crabs to that list of things hit/run over.

I have not hit a cow. Many racoon, 'possum, squirrels, rabbits cats and a couple deer. So far in Steve I have only hit birds. Averaging 1 a month or so on birds. Prior to that I seldom ever hit birds. though one time going to Oshkosh in dad's big Dodge Maxi-van we went through a flock of sparrows and hit a dozen all at once. It looked like it was raining birds when I looked in the rear view mirror.

I hit or rather was hit by the two cats (sorry Rick, I know you are a cat lover). One I was leaving mom and dad's house and it ran across the road and jumped spread eagle into the grill of my car. I was so surprised that I didn't have time to react. The other I was following my yet to be wife and the cat looked at her car and then she said it looked like the cat ran out to sniff my tires. It was out of view of the big land barge I was driving and had no idea it left the side of the road.

The first deer I had a 1978 Ramcharger with the frame mounted brush guard and it bounced off that and cleaned the chrome on the left front of the bumper, put a butt print on the passenger door as it folder the mirror in. I had the break away mirrors for going off road.

The second deer was the third in the herd that crossed in front of me and looked the smallest to hit of the group and there was no way to go between any or get stopped in time. Was a relatively light impact but broke the headlight and wrinkled the left front fender. Everything else was OK but still $1800 on our fairly new at the time Durango.

We bought out 5 year old a new bicycle Monday night since he learned to ride without training wheels on his little "Yamaha" 10" beginners bike and it is too small for him. He was so excited he didn't even want to stop at Culvers for supper and that is his favorite place to eat. He likes the chicken strips and fried cheese curds but can't have the cheese right now since he has developed an allergy to milk. Poor kid.

He went from this 12":

To this 16" without the training wheels:

flipper35 04-28-2015 12:31 PM

I know, right?

GH85Carrera 04-28-2015 01:05 PM

Whew, The convention next door is getting loud. Should I go investigate further? I think they are chanting we want Rick. SmileWavy

Jim Richards 04-28-2015 01:07 PM

Not enough redheads to get him moving.

flipper35 04-28-2015 01:14 PM

Yeah, but he hasn't seen the third from the right in the upper left-hand quadrant.

Porsche-poor 04-28-2015 02:49 PM

I think Rick is hiding from the mob!

RKDinOKC 04-28-2015 04:03 PM

Think one of those girls is my next door neighbor's daughter. It's the one with the red hair.
