Good Friday morning. Guess what, it is raining once again. It is supposed to rain for three days straight. That should pretty much end the drought. The OKC area is drought free right now and this will be the wettest month on record since before statehood. That is a much better record than the driest month on record. Hopefully California can intercept some of the rain and keep it out there.

A big win from the lads tonight

Good Morning, if I may be so bold as to suggest it.

Knew the guy that designed the Macintosh Equipment in it's hey day. He called them Mc****.

When my brother graduated college and started working for his FIL at the company I work for today they were really into hi-fi stereo. His FIL was not only the founder of Kimray, oil field controls, he was the recordist for the local symphony and recorded every performance for 25 years. When the music aficionados came to listen to his recordings he had to have the best.

Not happy with what was available, bro and his FIL decided to make their own stereo stuff. They hired the designer from Macintosh, and a speaker designer from Altec Lansing. They made a tuner, preamp, several sizes of amps and two sizes of speakers. They called them K-V. And even opened a local store, The Stereo Store. Their stuff was very highly regarded in the hi-fi world. This was in the early 70's.

In the mid 70's when they saw the consumer electronics catching up sound quality wise in the with the hi-fi stuff they sold The Stereo Store (which is still in business today doing custom av rooms). Tthe guy from Macintosh left to work for Phase Linear. The speaker guy continued to work at Kimray as a production engineer until he retired.

I still have one of the K-V 300 watt amps. In the mid-80's when I was upgrading my stereo system to surround sound the amp tested out at .001% distortion at full power. Doubt if I could find anyone today that would even want it.

In the early 90's I setup the system used to convert all the symphony's performances on reel to reel tape to digital and put them on CDR. It was a challenge because the dynamic range of the music on reel to reel was wider than the 100db limit of digital.

Don't even want to talk about the speaker I designed and built while in college that was stolen and the guy's company is now called Kicker after that speaker.

BTW, the Finns entry was a punk band made up of four middle aged mentally handicapped men.

I know ...
Maybe you liked Lordi better? :D

I just can't imagine why I was thinking of you when I first heard that beautiful melody! :p

"working from home" today, at the in-laws beach house on the RI shore...

75, perfectly clear skies, and a little breeze off the water.

I don't know why I'm so fortunate, but I'm not about to start questioning it now.

you got the Sonics right? The weather finally caught up with them. Package deal. For the record I am not a basketball fan.

GH85Carrera 05-22-2015 06:31 AM

Yep, we got their basketball team, two elephants from their zoo and a bunch of Boeing defense jobs. Now we get the rain. Heck we got the elephants for free because they did not want them. We had to pay for the roundball team but they did not want them. We got Boeing so they could get away from stupid union demands.

First softball game was last night and we were short a few players so dad, at 72, offered to pitch for us but wasn't going to bat. Fortunately for us the other team was just as short. We were only batting six and scored 12 runs the first inning. I was so tired of running I didn't want to go back out in the field. At least it was a nice sunny, soft breeze, 73* day to play. Even though I have been on the treadmill, my legs are sore today. The only good thing about running extra bases is you were able to get s short rest before batting again and someone could actually coach third base. We won, but they were catching up at the end because we were all pooped out. They were all young kids, mostly college aged.

Did I mention I hurt?

RKDinOKC 05-22-2015 06:38 AM

Didn't realize pooping was part of Softball. Didn't think Softball had hot dog and peanuts vendors like baseball. Or is that why it's called "Soft" ball?

You eat the greasy foods and you know what that does to your bowels...

hey I'm not complaining. I hate b-ball, never go see the elephants at the zoo and refuse to work for boeing. I'm just saying maybe they miss the rain and placed a take out order for some.

RKDinOKC 05-22-2015 06:56 AM

Not much into following any professional sport that involves men playing with balls.

Zoos are okay, but haven't visited one in a very long time. Just end up feeling sorry for all the incarcerated animals.

Nothing I do seems to have much effect on the weather or whether or not it rains. So, just try to NOT drive into that looks flooded and go on.

GH85Carrera 05-22-2015 08:12 AM

Yea, watching other overpaid physical freaks of men play with balls just has little interest to me.

Lordi, lol, I remember them. That was that band made from Orc casting leftovers of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. :D

Porsche-poor 05-22-2015 09:24 AM

That would be a band to avoid.

Since we are having a 3 day weekend and it is going to rain most of the time we decided we should close early. If I go home now my wife will put me to work helping with the laundry. I figured I could stick around here at the office and surf Pelican and get my afternoon nap in before I go home. I may even go raid the office fridge and have a beer.

My body woke me at the horrible hour of Rick'oclock to tell me it needs more drugs. After coughing up another half a lung and stuffing my head full of Sudafed and decongestant, its ready for bed again.
