Seafoam gets a lot of good press.
I use a tankful or two of Techron before doing an oil change. In the end one of my friends that rebuilds engines says only a tear-down will really get rid of old carbon deposits. |
You can always just pour some sand down the intake and sand blast everything as you drive.

On my 90 GT I used techron and it only cleaned a spot where the air/fuel flows in and like one side of the valves, again in the flow. That's why we did the walnut hull thing. After the cleaning I had my injectors cleaned/rebuilt and match flowed. When I sold the car it pulled 325 at the rear wheels. Porsche stated 325 at the crank. The only performance mods I did was gut the cats.

Well, I finally cracked and bought one of those austrian tupperware spoons.
It's a gen 2 model 19 and I got it from PSA new for less than other area shops wanted for used ones. I'll take it out Thursday and beat the crap out of it....it may just end up being my carry spoon |

Okay to decarbonize an dengine by using mechanic in a can the best thing on the market is BG44K, and there are two methods of doing it, one is on the tank, the other is to slowly draw it through a vac line then take the car out and hang foot. |
Also rids the area of mosquitos. Be sure to add it in an outdoors, well ventilated area with the front of the car pointed up wind.

I've read about this fancy BG44k stuff. I was able to score a quick bottle of Techron earlier and already added it, if it doesn't make a difference I'll try the 44K.

All this talk of thick and thin air... Anyone know how much the temperature being above 110 will affect a turbo charged motor? The escape just feels a bit less punchy on these hot days we've been having.....

Its got an air to air, no clue on the rest of the set up. Its the 2.0l 240HP Ford ecoboost single snail. IIRC they are running around 14psi on it... Maybe more...

Just a seat of the pants answer Sid but, yes hot weather will make a turbo car feel bloated, the cooler the air the better the power (to a point) You can always add a fogger and keep your intercooler cooler, that would help (lighten your wallet) |
