So yesterday I get up at 4:30, come down stairs, make coffee and walk to the den and along the way I hear what sounded like someone busting their a55 in the driveway so I open the door and peek outside, yup two (kids) late teens early twenties are in my driveway between Peggy and the big stupid truck WTF, so yeah off the porch I go and they take off and I give chase. They ducked down between two houses across the street and I am not about to go running full speed through someones yard in the dark so I let them go.
Nothing was disturbed and I figure they were poking around on TBST and jumped off and that was what I heard but damnit GET OFF MY LAWN

Good Morning World.

Went to the grocers yesterday evenin. One of the baggers that's been goin by and playing with Pepper while I'm shopping gets all the checkers and baggers to follow me out to see Pepper. Pepper tells them all "Hello", adding to the puppy frenzy. Two other ladies hear Pepper saying "Hello" and stop on the way to their car to get in on the puppy lickin. At home stowing my haul found some beef jerky and bacon/sausage toaster strudels in my bags that weren't in my cart. Weren't on the tape neither.

GH85Carrera 07-10-2015 06:20 AM

Good morning all.

My regular doctor decided he needed my annual blood and pee sample for my yearly health checkup. So no breakfast for Glen and go pee in a cup and get stuck. I figure it is a good thing to keep an eye on all of that health stuff. I like being healthy. I have been very lucky in life with good health. I go to bed at night feeling good and I don't hurt and I get up and bounce out of bed ready for another day. I sure don't feel like I did when I was in my 20s but that was a long time ago.

Whew, time for my morning nap.

RKDinOKC 07-10-2015 06:33 AM

Dp we cut the red one or the green one?

RKDinOKC 07-10-2015 06:41 AM

They called about my lawn mower I took back because it didn't run after their tune up. Claim they drained the old gas out, put new gas in and it ran fine. The "old" gas that was in it WAS new gas I had just gotten that morning that it wouldn't run?!

Porsche-poor 07-10-2015 06:52 AM

The y put in voodoo gas. only works at the shop.

Jim Richards 07-10-2015 06:54 AM

If I were spending that kind of money on a 1911 style spoon it would be in .45 ACP.

Sounds about right for a little over $200. Just looking for a 1911 style plinker. If I can hit some steel at 25 yards it would be fine. Not a carry piece. I know the Hi-Point are inexpensive, but they don't feel good in hand and I have yet to hear of anyone that likes them other than they are cheap for gang-bangers to get. I thought a reasonable used metal spoon would be better.

If I were going for more quality I would look at a Browning/FN Hi-Power, CZ, Sig, S&W and so on down the line. I like Ruger rifles, but the triggers on the larger hand spoons like the P series I can't stand. I saw some knock off BHP that people seem to like.

Most people I would say blow her off, but when Rick is afraid of her...

Porsche-poor 07-10-2015 09:46 AM

Jim needs to leave room at the top of the honey do list to write in "burn list" and check that off first.

Seems like every time I've been at the range with someone who had a super cheap pistol, they spent more time spitting nails and dealing with feed issues. Aside from making life miserable, I don't like having malfunctioning guns around. Why not spend a little more and get a used plastic gun that will feed right?

flipper35 07-10-2015 10:51 AM

If the build quality is decent they should function fine. 1911 style usually are pretty simple and don't have too many issues if they are loose enough. It is all the people that tighten everything up and it requires 1000 rounds to break in that causes issues. Built to military specs they aren't super accurate but function well. For something I was carrying around I would spend more.

The reasons you list are reasons I avoid the cheap new pistols. Inexpensive used ones though...

Just saw a Hungarian Hi-Power that was a good price though. Might have to snatch that instead of the Star. I never hear much bad about a Hi-Power.
