maybe I should say Happy Mother's Day to Jeffrey!! lol

I have had the morning coffee, David is still in bed, after all its only 10am!

Steve and I have been up since 7.

Got a few plans for the day, non involve sitting around relaxing, sigh.

Steve is a bit quiet today, first Mother's Day without phoning his Mum, so he is a tad sad this morning.

My Mum phoned last night Aust Mother's Day time, but sadly I was at a wedding so had the phone turned off, now its to late to call. Bad daughter.

My mom died several years ago. Mrs Carrera is not a mom. No Mother's Day celebrations around here. My MIL lives in another town and we called her. We did plan on a visit yesterday but the weather was too dicey to be on the road.

RKDinOKC 05-10-2015 08:03 AM

You don't get Mrs Carrera a Mother's Day gift from the Puppies?

First Mother's Day in 55 years I don't have a Mom to give a hug to.

I didn't think meat mattered as long as it wasn't organ meat.

nynor 05-10-2015 09:36 AM

anything with purines (a type of protein).

organ meat and beer are the worst. aged and processed meats are probably next. red meat. pork, chicken. dairy, especially aged cheeses. high fructose stuff, like soda (i haven't had a soda in a year). some beans, lentils are particularly bad. asparagus. and so on.

HHI944 05-10-2015 10:28 AM

I would be so screwed if I had to cut all that out. I try to eat organ meats once a week or so....meat is a staple of my diet....as is a soda in the morning for some quick sugar and caffeine

RKDinOKC 05-10-2015 11:08 AM

About the only thing I eat that has organ meat in it is Bologna. Never liked liver and onions or anything like that.

Friend of mine that had gout problems LOVED organ meats and ate a LOT of tart cherries to keep the attacks away. 20 minimum at a time.

My brother with MS went vegetarian to try to slow it down. Says he eats nothing with a mother. He also doesn't eat nuts or oils. His MS is in his brain. Told him since he is 1/4 Cherokee he ought to be eating head cheese and brains. Eat the parts of the animals that you want to cure in your own body is the idea. Some say it makes your immune system less sensitive to those areas, which is basically what MS is, the immune system attacking the nervous system.

I'm fond if beef heart. It ain't easy to prepare well, but it's incredibly rich in flavor, protein and all those fancy amino things that doctors talk about

Rick V 05-10-2015 11:56 AM

I could do without the soda, I might have one every three weeks and never a cola, the rest of that list, I will cut a mother fu*&er if they tried to take that from me

nynor 05-10-2015 12:51 PM

yeah, well, i am not cutting it all out. i am not a fan of organ meat and don't eat it. i haven't had bologna or hot dogs since the last attack, a year ago. soda is already out. coffee is okay, may even help, so i am good there. beer.... well, i need to quit the beer anyway. cheese is going to be hard. i don't eat a lot of aged cheese, but cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, havarti, muenster are staples in my diet. i think i'll cut back about 80% on the meat and cheese and 100% on the beer and see what happens.

i just had a bowl of steamed peas and corn with a little olive oil and a lot of paprika, dash of salt. yep, this has been my diet for about a week, now.

not sure what part of the animal i'd eat to cure my gout. feet? joint cartilage?

Oh Haha 05-10-2015 01:03 PM

Sweet!! Fixed my free weed whacker today. Cost:$17.00

The rope pulley broke where it engages the engine to start it. I found the part online.

The hardest part was re-winding the recoil spring to get it fit into the cartridge part.

Put it back together and it started on the 3rd pull.

I have an electric one that bought years ago but not having a cord is nice for getting out to the fence corners.

Yes, I asked my wife if she was ok with me working on it!!:D

Rick V 05-10-2015 01:26 PM

Had a quick couple hour job this morning and Beth and the youngest grand son went and kicked around then back home for a lazy kind of afternoon but I need to go to the grocery store so back out I go. Oh goodie

Rick V 05-10-2015 02:16 PM

Wow that was quick and easy, and man I have got to tell you I really like living in a river town during the hot weather

Rick V 05-10-2015 03:05 PM

Sorry for the bash in the BMX thread Wayne but I just had ta, yanno I wouldn't be able to sleep if I let that one go. :D

Oh Haha 05-10-2015 03:41 PM

porsche4life 05-10-2015 07:51 PM

D, I'm fairly certain it's a bad fuel pump, just haven't had time to jack with it...

For you electronics guys, got any ideas on this power supply board for a TV? I've replaced all the bad caps but I'm still not getting power through the two sets of outputs fed by this crispy bit. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1431316263.jpg
