Would AX the Rover, but afraid it will pop something and I need it to take my Porsche tire up to the Tire Shop to get it patched. Wouldn't have to worry about tearing it up going off track though.

Sid, Now you tell me?!? Almost called Andy at Shepard Automotive, but didn't think it was THAT big a deal.

Spent an hour under the Boxster tonight... I have this rattle that I have been believing was the exhaust for some time now. Went completely over the exhaust and I don't think that is it. It is a rattle sensitive to engine load, not speed. Goes away under high load/high RPM, and isn't at idle. It's just during low rpm-crusing and under slight power.

I'm starting to think it sounds rotational. e.g. pressure plate/throwout bearing related.

I think I'll drop it by Callas on monday. I want it made right before it turns out to be something bad :(

I Thought you knew we have a tire machine richard...

That sucks mike... Better to get it now tho

nynor 09-12-2010 08:36 AM

dude, just repair it! it'll take about 5 minutes and the wheel doesn't even need to come off.

my local PCA wouldn't let me....

Our PCA is greedy, anyone can run anything but motorcycles or go carts as long as they pass the safety inspection.

Hey Sid, where were you?

The weather was not quite what the we wanted. It rained after the first 4 runs. I refuse to get my leather seats wet and ruin them so I left at the half way point. I don't mind so much driving my 911 in the rain, but it is crazy to get leather soaked with a wet back & butt.

It rained HARD on my trip home. I saw one dumb ass smashed against the center barrier on the interstate. It was obvious he hydroplaned and last control.

porsche4life 09-12-2010 06:11 PM

I was changing the torsion bars in my car Glen. Next weekend the car will go back together in time for the car show.... I would have brought the ///M up but it was crucial time in the shop.

Oh and some ASSHAT screwed a screw in the sidewall of one of the tires on the M last night while dad was in the grocery store... There is no way that could have gotten in there naturally.

nynor 09-12-2010 06:19 PM

while you are probably right about the screw, i've had that happen before just driving. sucks, either way.

porsche4life 09-12-2010 06:21 PM

That looks like it would be hard to get to happen whilst driving...

nynor 09-12-2010 06:27 PM

i hear ya. just sayin.

RKDinOKC 09-12-2010 08:33 PM

Troy got a screw in his tire at the autocross. Seems like a lot of people are getting screwed.

porsche4life 09-12-2010 09:44 PM

Ok progress on my weekend work...

Got the tranny clean. The Torsion tube assembly out on the ground, and the new bars in. I will have to reindex one side(ran out of time) before the assembly can go back in. I now have all the Delrin in place. Ready to get this beast on the road. I won't have time to have it aligned before the car show on the 25th so it will have to be trailered...

Casualties so far? Minor flesh wounds and one dead Makita Angle grinder.....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284356596.jpg

Morning guys!

Bummer Sid, some people can be real A-holes.
If it's any consolation, I got screwed too this weekend... But I got kissed first... ;)
This picking up women thing is getting too easy... Thrill of the chase is gone.
I need a new challenge, maybe I should try to pick up lesbians from now on, just to make it that little bit harder...
Enough boasting, I'm also starting to get ill, my throat feels like it's full of glass splinters and pepper...
Hope it goes away, I hate being ill.

Oh yeah, Sid, you make me jealous when I see you wrenching.
You obviously are a better wrench than me, and you actually work on your car as well.
I really should start assembling mine...

Try dressing like Tom... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/563863-hey-boys.html

porsche4life 09-12-2010 10:01 PM

Geronimo I have a solution to your lady problems... If you wouldn't pick out the skanky chicks it wouldn't be so easy.... You wouldn't have health issues either... ;)

Both my parents informed me that I was INSANE this weekend for tackling a project this major. Mom asked if it was worth all this work... After I had the torsion tube carrier out of the car. I told her it was a little late to ask that question.

slodave 09-12-2010 10:03 PM

You mean he isn't paying for them?

porsche4life 09-12-2010 10:04 PM

Hmm.... I hadn't thought of that... That would explain the VD for sure...

You can answer the question after it's all back together... Better spin the damn thing enjoying the new suspension though...

porsche4life 09-12-2010 10:07 PM

I have no doubt that it will spin now... Probably rather violently... I'm just ready to see how many seconds I can shave off my time now...

Watch out Richard!
