That's still 30 minutes of warm directed at the insides of the car instead of in the engine bay.

Partner in number two firm! Sounds like time to retire? Or start a family? :)

flipper35 12-08-2015 07:23 AM

If the firm is that big they will need a satellite office, no?

Good Tuesday all.

SAHD then? Consultant? Know anything about coffee or seed inventory control?

Porsche-poor 12-08-2015 07:39 AM

SAHD?

Coffee some people drink it, I don't.
Seed control? I that like counting small round objects till you go nuts?

RKDinOKC 12-08-2015 07:55 AM

Stay At Home Dad.

The software company I worked for has an office up there. They were partnered with Michael Freeman from Metal Marine Pilot (Wood Freeman auto pilots for boats, now closed) then one of the brothers moved up there as well. They publish accounting software with a module specifically for seed inventory control. There are some very specific requirements for tracking noxious weeds and a bunch of other stuff.

GH85Carrera 12-08-2015 07:59 AM

I am guessing they count the seeds buy mass. I have purchased lawn grass seeds and it was by the pound.

flipper35 12-08-2015 08:03 AM

And if you read the label our software would have been responsible for what is on it. All the ratios, germination, etc.

One of the fastest growing coffee roasters in his neck of the woods was a client as well. They also had an entomology module as well. California has some weird paperwork requirements.

Porsche-poor 12-08-2015 08:05 AM

I only know how to draft no software for me.

So you can draw them a very accurate 3D computer image of it. We can take a picture of it from an airplane and then make a cool 3D image of it!

team work! except I prefer 2d orthographic drawings.

GH85Carrera 12-08-2015 09:11 AM

We do 2D orthophotos as well. I am working on a project the the killer bad ass monster computer server I built has churned for 7 days to build 1/2 the project. The first half is 17 gig tif file

flipper35 12-08-2015 09:56 AM

Glen, the next fortune cookie you open will tell you there is a Cray in your future!

One can hope anyway.

RKDinOKC 12-08-2015 10:51 AM

Got my first hard drive, A 20meg Dataframe for my Mac, from a guy that had a Cray emulator running on his Mac. The Dataframe drive had a system extension that kept files together when saving, it kept the files from fragmenting.

He also worked with his wife, a nurse, and made a sonogram system that used two sensors and made a 3D picture of baby(s) in the womb. This was in 1988.

GH85Carrera 12-08-2015 11:22 AM

Our current workstation that I built has a 6 cores, 12 threads i7, 3.3 Ghz, 128 Gig of RAM and two SSD and a pair of spinning 2TB drives in a RAID.

I am going to add a M.2 drive and make that the boot drive and then another pair of SSDs running as a strip RAID.

It has 6 chassis fans and a huge fan for the CPU. It has two GeForce GTX 980 video cards and each card has 4 GB of RAM. Running Win 10 Pro.

GeForce GTX 980 | Specifications | GeForce

The job is 200 square miles at 6 inch resolution.

I have seen it using as much as 110 Gig of RAM but we have not pegged it out as yet.

flipper35 12-08-2015 11:34 AM

What, no Titan X? They are on sale under a grand each right now with 12GB of RAM.

If you ever want to trade...

RKDinOKC 12-08-2015 12:01 PM

Gosh, all I gots was a new maxed out MacBook Pro.

Reminds me, I need to wipe my old one and turn it in. Think it is funny, it needs a keyboard and trackpad and I hardly ever use those since I have external keyboard and mouse.
