Surround speaker came loose from the ceiling and hit my antique coffee table. busted the glass, the frame around the glass, and a leg. I claim it was a mini earth quake, and that's my story.

I vote for the "It's a good time to remodel the dining room" defense.

i don't think this is going to be a problem. it will, however, be inconvenient.

You get the measurements, bring them to the glass place and get a nice new one that fits. It's easy.

Sounds easy in concept. What happens when I give them the measurements...and then they cut me a piece 2 millimeters wider or narrower than what I ordered and it doesn't become apparent until I try to fit said piece of glass into the tabletop? It's not just an issue of fault, there's also the PITA aspect of it. Particularly as I don't have a truck or minivan to cart around large pieces of glass.

We had custom glass cut for the office desk here at home. We called several glass companies before we found one willing to come here and measure & install. The first time it was laughable it was so far off. Finally the owner of the company came over and measured it, he came back with the crew for installation and it fit just fine.

It might be easier to bring your table to the glass company so they can customer fit the glass to the table.

slodave 10-03-2010 12:43 PM

Or see if they can come out and measure. They would have to do that for custom glass for windows. It can be replaced and is not that big of a deal.

porsche4life 10-03-2010 06:56 PM

Evening guys. The good news is that I didn't bash my head in on a rock!

I did get in a few boulders today, hiked a bit, and generally hung out with two awesome people. We were out for almost 12hrs exactly

slodave 10-03-2010 07:12 PM

Alarick, call a glass place. They will come out and measure to within a 64th of an inch. It also puts the burden on them to make the cuts right. They would prefer to come out and get the measurements.

realized the paypal shipping address for the catback I ordered was my old house in Rolla MO... so tomorrow I gotta call this place ASAP and get them to change the addy before it ships or else I'm f****ed. It's a cheap ebay store too so I hope this isn't going to get complicated.

porsche4life 10-03-2010 07:32 PM

Ouch....

Morning dudes! I had a quiet weekend. Didn't do anything really. I am picking up where we left with a friend from a while back. :-)

Also, that girl with whom I had the WORST EFF'in' sex of my life.... (Told you about her a while back) She sent me a text Saturday morning at 4.30am... Asking me if I would come and sleep at her place.....

Errr, NO!!! and where you get off even thinking that I would, is so beyond my comprehension it is not even funny anymore...
So NO, not ever again, I thought that was clear. Now let me sleep.

Monday, back to work, ugh and blech.
