So Richard, local exchange and she doesn't have any special permissions to any calendar, she just wants to see if there is an open time and clicks the Open Calendar in the Home ribbon in 2013. She went to use the scheduling assistant and everything started working again. I wonder if it is something broken in the autodiscover since it will ask for her user name and password when she tries to look at a calendar and then it tells her no connection for that calendar. I can view the same calendars when she cannot. I don't think it is an Active Directory issue as she has no issues on her old laptop and Outlook 2010. I told her we would upgrade her to 2016 to beta test it for campus. She laughed and said OK with the caveat that the person in the next door office get it so we know if the issue is her computer or the software.

Too bad you weren't closer, there are a couple really good mom and pop restaurants with your name on it willing to take my monies.

Open Calendar or Other Users Folder?
Open Calendar opens the .ics or datafile.
Other User's Folder opens the calendar or inbox of a user in exchange.

Create her profile on a different computer, ie yours. I do this a lot to check on peoples messes.
If you want too keep her password secret you can change it for testing, then have her change it back when done.

I was thinking there may be a local vs public DNS or VPN issue if she drags it home and back.
There is also the HTTP web setting in Outlook for off network connections.

If the calendar has an anonymous setting it shouldn't ask for a login or password.

Oh, I have her previous laptop here in my office so I can have her log into that next time things are acting up.

RKDinOKC 08-17-2016 11:38 AM

Opening from address book or shared calendar.
If using shared would ask for username and password.
If address book would assume anonymous if was not listed in permissions.

Would definately check the permissions on the user's calendar she is trying to open then.

It looks to me like you guys are speaking Swahili. :D

It is officially confirmed that my son has ADHD and Aspbergers. We met with the psychiatrist today and he went over the results of the intensive testing that happened last month. We had diagnosis done before but this was by a specialist which means that some of the methods and doctor visits will be covered by our insurance. The great thing is that he wants to get Jake off of all of the meds with a target of this time next year.

I was never a fan of using medicine or drugging my son but we didn't have many options, or at least we didn't know about them. It's not a guarantee but I am hopeful.

Transport is supposed to pick up Cayenne in Jacksonville FL tomorrow and delver here Sunday.

Man, this waiting has me stressed out. Livin on Imodium and Nexium, the iums that's supposed to keep both ends in check. It's making my blood sugar go wacky too.
Wouldn't have been a big deal if I hadn't gone thru that flake in Cali ordeal first.

Hope having a specialist increases his quality of life!

Wayne, good news on getting him off the meds.

Richard, address book, no specific permissins and she cannot open any calendar when it goes wonky.

Good luck on the delivery. In this case it isn't a private idiot deal.

Porsche-poor 08-17-2016 02:23 PM

yeah good luck. I hope your out and about in the ride this weekend.

Brent, like I said, delete the data file AND autodiscover file and any sharing file. Then make new profile. That ensures no settings on the computer are corrupted.

Sounds like Outlook is losing connection to exchange. Microsoft has a connection troubleshooting tool, but it has never helped any of the accounts I've had problems with.

If that doesn't fix it, export all the Outlook data (backup), delete the account on the server. Create a new account on the server and new profile in Outlook, then import the exported backup. Might want to record any AD groups etc and re-add to new account. That insures no settings for the account on the server are corrupted.

If that doesn't fix it, I would call Microsoft so I could say at least we tried everything before spending anything on a support call.

In Win7 my Outlook loses it connection and won't connect to 365 when I turn on the VPN for RDP and files server access on company network from home.

In Win10 Outlook keeps it connection when turning on VPN and I can do RDP, and it will connect to the mac servers, but not any of the windows servers or windows based NAS.

Use my Mac because EVERYTHING connects and works with it. Now just use the virtual PC's when testing Outlook for PC.

Had a user request Office be installed on his computer today. Evidently he thinks he is too important to log into office365 and click the 3 buttons to download and install the office apps himself like our instructions sent to people that have the license.

Good morning all.

I have to go get my 911 tag today or at least soon. If I get it by the 26th is is $22.50, if I wait for a month is $27.50. I will save the 5 bucks and do it today. The last tag took almost 10 minutes total time to renew. I will see if I can get that down to 9 minutes. ;)

Morning.

We are rooting for ya Glen!

Gooten Mertnin!

Hope I will be visiting the Tag Agency Monday!

My niece's kids are heading off to first day of school today...in grades 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12th. Her oldest is graduating college this year and her 2nd oldest is a Sophmore in college. Her husband is teacher and football coach at the private school they are all going to and as 10 siblings himself. His dad is the Principal.

My brothers other two kids have 6 each. That means my brother has 20 grandchildren to dote over. There would be more, but the niece with 8 has had two miscarriages.

I used to hunt around and find a cheap gift or toy to give them all the same thing for Christmas. It was a challenge. It was quickly the highlight looking forward to what Uncle Richard was going to get them from Christmas. My SIL told me she hates it because she spends a lot getting her grandkids what they want and they like the cheap crap I get them more. When I went through the foot thing I had to stop and they ALL told me how disappointed they were but understood and that I really didn't have to get them anything. Now I make Mango Salsa for everyone and they love it. Made 3 gallons last year.

Whoo Hoooo. From ignition on to ignition off round trip was 7 minutes 45 seconds. I could shave at least 45 seconds off of that if I was willing to park closer to their front door. I parked at the corner parking spot at the far edge of the parking lot as usual and it was just over 20 seconds of walking from my car and about that going back to the car.

Oh Haha 08-18-2016 07:00 AM

Sweet!! I did ours for the truck online. It took 5 days to get here. Of course, it wasn't as cheap as yours. It was $99. One dawler was for "privilege of not having to deal with the SOS office idiots". It may have been worded different than that, though. ;)

RKDinOKC 08-18-2016 07:01 AM

Have only had to wait to be helped once at the Tag Agency off Broadway. An then it was only about 1 minute.

We can mail it in, but don't know if we can do it via the interwebs or not.

RKDinOKC 08-18-2016 07:05 AM

Yep, Google results show we can renew online, from the first day it is due for up to 10 months late.

Not sure how they verify your insurance but the last time I renewed they gave me back the insurance verification from the ins company for registering that they used to keep.

Can't mail in the registering the new to me pepper. A licensed tag agent must visually verify the VIN and odometer.
I vaguely remember having to take the last pepper to the tag agency for the loan company for the same reason before I got the pseudo title from them.

After I get the new pepper all settled will pay off the current pepper, hopefully the trade deal with the shop will be some incentive for finishing it up.

When I first moved to OKC I had to go through get a new tag and get a Oklahoma driver's license fiasco. I went to a local tag agency that the people at work pointed out to me. It was close to work so off I went.

I am pretty sure every single employee was smoking and I think all the customers were as well. The place was worse than a night club in the 1960s for smoke. I moved here from Alabama and that was a non title state back then. So first think she asks for my title and I said there is no title, just a bill of sale. You would have thought I yelled profanity. The place went quiet and they all looked and me like I was thief with no title. I told them Alabama did not issue titles. She got out a huge book and looked it up. She was astonished that I was right. Of course that just meant I had to pay for a new title and registration. It took forever and I was about to choke from all the the smoke.

The driver's license was another stop. I had to take the written test, and a State Trooper was supposed to give me a driving test. We walked to the parking lot and he looked at me, he looked at the 914 and he asked how long I have owned it. I said 4 years, and he muttered to himself "this is stupid" and he signed off on my driving test without getting in the car.
