He is just a few degrees off ya know....

What a wonderful ******* day. Went flying. My instructor wants me to get used to crossing class B airspace, so we headed back over LAX. It's been a week since I flew and he wanted me to handle the radios as well as fly - as it should be. I became overwhelmed and frustrated. Ended the flight in a bad mod. Then off to collect the 911 for a smog check. Something's not right, sounds like a VW on steroids and just wasn't running right - this after I just completed a valve adjustment.... Drove a few miles to TRE anyway.. Once there. Go through a few things. One thing mentioned - a valve may be too tight. Not what I wanted to hear and now I'm feeling really shiitty. Turns out a plug wire may not have been on correctly, so I was running on 5 cylinders. Relief. Calm down slightly, but now off to smog. Yay! It passed with flying colors. Another relief. Still in a bad mood though.

Sorry 'bout the rough day. Liz got us a new dog. Wanna come over and see? She's a real sweetie.
|
What about the cats? Thanks for the offer, but I've got clothes in the wash now. I'm also not in the mood to go anywhere else tonight.
And what kind of dog? |

Our new (to us) Weimeraner. She's about 3 years old. Rescue dog, meaning it was rescued from some unsavory situation/pound/etc. Apparently the previous owners were illegally breeding her. Here in LA all dogs have to be registered with the city. To be registered, your dog has to be spayed/neutered. If you want to breed dogs, you need some sort of license. I'm guessing the previous owners didn't have that license. She had had about 3 or 4 litters in her short lifetime. I think there's still one puppy remaining for adoption from her last litter of 6 (about 8 weeks ago). No name, yet. Liz wanted Charlotte (after the spider). I wanted Schumi. The kids thought of Candy. Then Anna thought of her hero, Dora. In the end, maybe it'll be Portia. It's the only name that she seems to respond to, actually. And we already have a grey German car (phonetically) named that. Makes sense to have a grey German dog named similarly, no? The cats are...cautious. They're clearly not happy. But the dog is absolutely great with the cats. Virtually ignores them. I can already see the cats coming closer. They'll walk into the same room, at least. |
How is her demeanor? Skittish at all? I can't tell if it's just the surprise of the camera flash. Nice looking dog!

Good looking dog.... I'd never have one that big in the house though... But thats just a personal thing.
|
What about Great Danes? Ours were kept indoors most of the time. They let us know when they wanted out. :) Nothing like a Dane sitting on the couch with you. :D
|
I like big dogs well enough... I'm just a clean freak, raised by clean freaks.... Dogs kinda wreck that....
|
Hmm. Only on rainy days or if blood was spilled, but then, I caused the same messes. They were actually very clean dogs.
|
Sorry.... Clean and dog aren't words that go together.....

Night guys...

Good job Noah. :)
Seems to be the thing for the last few weeks. My rescue Beagle is finally settling into her position at the bottom of the food chain. My cats are all big type A'shttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288859386.jpg |

Good morning G-Man.
Did you get to see much of the election coverage? It was interesting to watch BBC America to see the outside view of the election. I am happiest that it is OVER for right now. |

Didn't pay much attention to it really.
I did hear on the radio that a malcontent person would me more inclined to vote just show his grievances. A person who is happy with the way things were going, will not be as much inclined to vote. This would of course be bad for Obama. I heard he got his ass handed to him in parliament but not in the senate?? or vice versa?? My impression is that the ROW thinks/perceives Obama as a better, more intelligent, more sympathetic person and president than George W. Bush. Dunno how Americans see him. |
