I'm sure their deadline is set based on when they can't change the number of meals they have to pay for. So I can understand not refunding meal tickets. Would guess it's just too much trouble to make changes to accommodate refunds based on not attending the other events. And if they did, I'm betting they would make a lot more mistakes with events and who goes to what than they already do.

don't care they have pissed me off and I'm to tired to give a @#$@ about their problems.
|
PCA has been draconian about Parade refunds for a long time. It is stupid to refuse any refund a month before the event.
|
I'm betting I can get a note from the doc! LOL like that would help.

David, that sucks. Go eat all their food.
Finally got around to looking at dad's XT600 to get it running so I can ride it. The tank has a pretty rusty scale inside. Will probably do the evaporust and then the Por15 kit. Needs a new petcock as well. Those are terrible expensive. $9. http://ridermagazine.com/wp-content/...N-IMG_1126.jpg |
looks like fun try and not get killed.

Funny, the original owner loaned that bike to me years ago when I went to get my cycle stamp on my license. I was told the only thing I did wrong was that I didn't slow down enough for the speed bump when leaving the parking lot. I said that too slow is dangerous and I could hit it at 50mph and the bike wouldn't feel it.
Dad bought it from the original owner then and when we would visit from CA I would ride it around. Now that we are in WI it just made sense to buy it from him. In this case buy would mean the labor to get it running again. My daughter wants an XT225/250 to ride into town to see her friends to save gas. She likes bikes better than cars. As far as the not get killed. I tried that too many times in my youth so now I know what to look out for. :) |

I was the registrar for Parade in 1996. I had to hand enter every person from a piece of paper they filled out. Now the person registering does all that for them. They cut off new registrations after a period even if there is room for more. At our parade I took the registration of a man that was US Army active duty and just returned from the big sandbox. I took his money and signed him up. Some of the national officers were pissed. They said that had never been done. I looked him in the eyes and said see this badge, it says I am the registrar, and we have room for a man that was out of country in a war zone, now get out of my way, I am busy. Now the entire Parade is run by paid professionals. We did it all with 100% volunteers. They just see more income and less expense for the canceled participation. |
oh well. I'll get my grill badge and go home.

Broke my femur riding a YZ 250. From that experience decided I was not a good enough to ride a dirt bike, or maybe it was that I was not willing to go through the future injuries I would no-doubt incure.
|
well you are not supposed to do that. I rode off road bikes from about the age of 8 and then switched to street bikes when I turned 16.
|
I rode dirt bikes from 5 starting with the Z50 then when I was older switched to dual purpose bikes. There were a couple times I am sure I would have gone down hard had I been on a street bike. Rim savers are life savers!
I did go down in the grease one time and that resulted in a slight inconvenience. I was unable to walk for a week and then a few years later my knee got really messed up from not taking care of it right away and it gave out completely. It took several months of therapy to get it back to normal(ish). What happened was the bike was sliding and my boot caught a tree root and decided my knee should hinge outward. All other major injuries were ball sport related. I am like Quigley at the end of the movie, but with street bikes. Didn't say I can't ride 'em just got no use for 'em. |

We are trapped at home!
They sprayed oil and tar on the main road into the neighborhood and then went home for the day. The asphalt does not go down today. I guess we will be able to survive with food on hand and electricity and water and sewage and internet connection. It will be a real survival challenge! |
Didn't start riding motorized 2 wheeled death traps until 21.
Glen, there is Pizza slut, Jiminny John's, Markhoe's (great sammuch), Donimo's. etc. There is even a place that delivers steak dinners, though I don't really recommend em. Don't know of a place that delivers Beers though. |
I think we can survive on our own for a few more hours. We should be able to make it to tomorrow's re-opening of the road.

$30 jump start capacitor fixed my Ac thankfully. |
Yep, those really suck. Unless you want to wait longer than a pizza and eat cold food.
Oh yeah, there are some Chinese deliveries too. Kinda got out of the habit of ordering Chinese. Their foods were too difficult for Mom to chew. |
