Ah ha ha, Did it today. After getting the run around for almost a week Deleted me as a user from this freaking new PC. Now, because the domain restrictions on the computer name, etc can't add my user back any users for that matter. Woo hoo. Tell me they don't know why my user is doing weird stuff!

Looks interesting, Jeff, but somehow I think that would end badly for me. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif

Yea, the one on the right is smoking a cigarette. Can’t have that on a boat in California.

We are off to the PCA breakfast this morning.

Exactly! Public smoking is bad juju. And only one of women took the proper sun bathing care to ensure there are no tan lines. The others are subject to burning in those areas, which substantially increases their risk of skin cancer.

We’re off to B-fast with the kids this morning. :)

After the breakfast we went as a group to the veterans museum. One of our members helps run it. He is a three times retired Col. of the Army. Purple Heart recipient and has many items he donated.

They have some amazing artifacts from the Spanish American war to the current sand box wars the Middle East. Lots of stuff from Vietnam and WW2.

Guy that worked for me when I was over Emgineering and Graphic Arts was a Twin. He is a draftsman, and still is. His twin was a bouncer at a nudie bar. He, not his twin, has a boat/jet skis and go to the lake a lot. His brother often brought the girls from the nudie bar. His boat was described as often looking like that picture. They were never hasseled over the boat full of nudie girls. Suppose the lake rangers were supporting the "wild life."

They called one of the girls the bee lady because a bee stung her rignt on a nipple at one of the lake trips.

His wife said she didn't care if he looked at the menu as long as he ate a home.

He told us about the first time he saw a shaved one. One of the dancers came to their house showing it off right after getting it done. Told him he could touch it. His wife said she didn't care, it wasn't hers.

Hey there is a giant bright ball in the sky and the sky is a funny color, it’s blue! Forecast is a high of 72. I like it.

Welp, off to the pancake luncheon my brother is putting on for Mother's Day. It will mainly be his daughter, her family and her husband's parents and grand parents, Me, and brother's SIL and her husband that live between my bro's house and mine. Neice has six kids and one of them just got married.

The El Camino turn signal stalk broke again. The stalk is the turn signal, windshield wiper, squirters, and wiper delay, and the cruise control lever. It of course has a cable from the top of the steering column down the column to the multi-connector. They were smart enough to put a little hole on the connector itself so I can use some safety wire or hobby wire, to poke through the hole, and up the column as I pull the old wire out. Then tie on the new connector and its wire, and pull it back down the column. That is the theory. The workshop manual makes it sound easy. So the old one came out fairly easy, and I tied on the new one to the wire, and started puling from the bottom and pushing the wire from the top. The dang wire snapped inside the column.:(

Cussing for sure helps in that situation and I had some medicinal profanity to utter. Kinda like a spell. I got out my borescope and started peering up inside the column. There was the end, about three inches up inside the column. Of course there is no real room to maneuver and I had my iPhone used for the display. I had it propped up and could see that, but poking the scope around inside the tunnel while it was looking back up the column makes getting oriented a challenge. I finally found it, and managed to get some needle nose pliers on it and wiggled the wire down to get some bigger pliers on it, and pulled it down. Crisis averted. Phew.

Turn signal on the Cayenne is the same kind of everything on the stalk with a lever replacement. Did mine when the left turn signal lever stopped canceling itself.

Have replaced it on every Porsche I've owned. Even the new BoxsterS. Replaced it to add the computer lever on the boxster. With the lever just had to enable it on the computer.

Good Morning guys. Monday is back. The big bright thing is up in the sky, and the sky is blue.

We are getting ready for the annual on our 182. Every 12 months by (FAA) law, we have to do a full and through inspection on the 182 like the British MOT only even more invasive. We have to take off panels to physically see all the mechanical parts. Open up interior parts and unbolt access panels to see and inspect every cable and wire. Every single part of the aircraft has to work as delivered by the factory when new, or better and if it is improved the log books have to be updated. You may envision a little notebook size log book, and you would be way wrong. It is the size of an set of encyclopedias and has its own luggage to carry it around in. Any modification, oil change, repair or pretty much anything done to the airplane has to have a log book entry. Oil changes and adding air to the tires can be done by the owner, but just about everything else has to have a certified by the FAA mechanic sign the log book entry and a full description of what was done.

My business partner are going out to the airplane to open up the few pieces we can remove as owners just to save the mechanic an hour of more of time since he is not cheap. We follow the rules, do the full inspection & write a nice check to keep the airplane flying. Right now it can't fly until the mechanic says it passes the inspection.

He does compression checks, looks at every spark plug, fuel injector and lots of other things. from the spinner tip to the end of the tail.

Good morning and Happy Saturday! It’s completely gray outside, no sign of the sun. There’s a light mist falling from the sky, and everything here is damp. At least it’s a bit warmer. More garage time for me. :)

GH85Carrera 05-13-2019 08:25 AM

Golly, removing those panels is fun!. Imagine a sheet metal airplane wing, with a factory made stamped sheet metal inspection plate with between 3 to 7 screws holding it in place. One the underside of the wing, so I have to stand with my feet about two feet apart for me to be short enough to get under the wing, and unscrew all the screws except one. It gets removed 1/2 way and the panel swings open, then put the screws back into place in the holes so the screws are not lost. And there are lots of inspection spots. I have certainly done worse things, and this is only hard on my neck from looking up. Well my arms as well from holding them above my head.

It will save the real mechanic a couple of hours of his expensive time. He has to look in each hole and inspect whatever. I guess look for corrosion, and cable wear and lube.
