I didn't mean like foreign exchange, I was thinking more permanent exchange.

So a "Christian" valve manufacturing company in OKC (aka buckle on the bible belt) is going to have "more aware" employees?

For full disclosure many of these employees are hired because they go to the right church.

My partner is on a road trip. Normally he takes care of the price quotes and makes the flight plans. The flight planner software tells us how many square miles the site is, and how many times we have to fly back and forth and how many exposures it is and so on. We use that to make the quote to the client. I have had two different quotes so far this morning. I sure hope we get the projects and I just sent an email to my partner to make more road trips. Cool!

Richard, ours is a catholic based institution. (Hey Joe!) Our main requirement is that you can breath on your own. Well, mostly that you can. So, you have a leg up on us in your hiring policies.

Glen, good luck on the quotes!

RKDinOKC 09-21-2017 11:36 AM

Breathing on their own. Often wonder if that is not some kind of group thing.

flipper35 09-21-2017 11:40 AM

Me too.

Porsche-poor 09-21-2017 11:52 AM

hiring process involve breathing on a mirror?

Outback Porsche 09-21-2017 11:57 AM

And in the blink of an eye (and a yawn) it's Friday! Woohoo

Morning again.

Jim's on another world trip? Good-o

I'm retirement training again in two weeks time. Glorious southern Victoria (Oz).

Outback Porsche 09-21-2017 12:00 PM

I'm sure we've got some people who wear headphones all day and listen to breathing instructions.

Outback Porsche 09-21-2017 12:05 PM

Uh-oh

Complaints from the war office for waking her up at sparrow fart. Better get coffee on quick :D

RKDinOKC 09-21-2017 12:37 PM

Think it only involves a urine specimen for drug testing. And i don't think that involves anything to determine species either.

We used to fill all our labor needs from a temp/placement service. If the person worked out well they were hired full time. Don't know why but noticed when adding people back after the layoff they have all been direct hires. 50% of them don't last a month. Didn't have that kind of turnover with people the temp service sent.

Okay..My work day is done.

Found out my fancy pants are irreparably shrunken. They are a full 3 inches shorter than the other pair I have. Thankfully I chose not to have both pair cleaned! The might be able to fixit guy at the other cleaners was laughing they were so much shorter. Said he hadn't seen anything shrunk that much in a long time. AND that the other cleaners were denying it because they didn't want to be out for such and expensive pair of pants. Said he could relax them back to the original length if they had shrunk and inch but 3 was way too much.

iPhone's new iOS 11 has a cool new feature. Do Not Disturb while driving! It will sense the bluetooth when you turn to car/radio on and put the phone on Do Not Disturb so you don't get any calls, texts, or emails. Have not messed with it, but I would love it to automatically send a text "Driving, call you back went I get to a stopping place"

Can't try iOS 11 yet because my work email is Exchange and use the Apple Mail app. With the current iOS 11 it will not send emails using Exchange. Fix is to use Outlook for iPhone. Think it was planned by Microsoft to get iPhone users using Outlook instead of Mail.app.

And another geeky thing I discovered. With the last Windows 10 update all of the companies Windows10 devices have started showing up in Office365 Mobile Device Management. That means I should be able to install profiles on those computers like I can on phones. Then if they are traveling an loose their laptop I can erase the company files and email, or if they have a home computer setup to work from I can erase work files and email from it when they are terminated.

Yea Friday

Why is it when you want to borrow money to improve a property they only want to loan based on the value of the property before the improvement?

Porsche-poor 09-22-2017 06:33 AM

morning all. TGIF!!!!! tomorrow is moving day.

RKDinOKC 09-22-2017 06:48 AM

Looks like am going to be emptying out, fixin and cleaning up, and staging my house like it's for sale so will appraise high enough to get enough equity out to make it worth the refi costs.

Guess it's a good excuse to get around to removing all the dead people's stuff out of my house.

Porsche-poor 09-22-2017 06:52 AM

good luck. I will eventually have to help dad sell his old place aka move all the left over crap to storage.

GH85Carrera 09-22-2017 07:33 AM

Don't bother to move it to storage. Why pay a ton to store crap no one wants. Have an estate sale. What is not sold, donate to Salvation Army. It is real hard to throw out some "treasures" but if truly no one wants them, why keep them. I have a pair of 11x14 pictures of my brother and myself when I was 3 and he was 5. Mom had them on the wall at every house we lived in since I was 3. My brother does not want them. I don't want them. I will shoot a nice photo of them to digitize them, and then trash them. I should have trashed them years ago.
TGIF folks. I hope today was a s good as yesterday. We quoted two nice projects, got set up to photograph a project tomorrow and I just picked up a pile if pictures to be picked up by my client.

The place that prints the photos for us asked if they could use one of them in their lobby. I said sure, as long as our name is left on it.
