Went to the grocers. Heard an annoucement on the PA..."All employee, go outside to take care of the Farts." Maybe I heard it wrong, but when I got to the cashier that is what she thought she heard as well.
They also called the owner of the tan Porsche SUV to come to the front desk...The staff was new and they didn't know Pepper and her tendency to hang out the window. |
Man, it is great to have fall officially arrive and get fall temperatures. Moma nature is on the ball this year. It is 69 degrees and nice and cool in the garage without AC needed. One of the parts made of 100% plastic is a cosmetic piece for the front edge of the center console down by your feet. It just covers up the screws used to mount the console to the floorboards, and some of the wires from the AC controls. After 33 years, the plastic is very brittle. The holes where the screws go through it to the console will break out and snap off the corners.
I have been playing with a plastic JB weld product that works pretty well. It takes a while to set up, but I am in no major rush. No one but me will know it is repaired like it is, but hopefully it will last a while. |

Yep, Monday has returned. My commute to work was rough. I found a hole in yet another sock. Walking around with no shoes most of the day has been hard on my socks. I planned ahead and bough a large package of socks at Sam's and I can change out socks pretty fast. The bad news is winter will be here soon, and I will keep my shoes on to keep my toes warm so no more worn out socks, or much reduced wear on the socks.
Then while making coffee the filter flopped over so I had a few coffee grounds in the bottom of the pot. Man, this Monday crap is rough. ;) |
Yep, summers I go thru a lot of socks.
Since that MRSA infection every other day I wear knee socks to keep from getting sores on my legs. Wear regular socks in the summer like house shoes to keep from wearing holes in the knee socks. Have some of those wool slipper socks I wear in the winter. They keep my feets warm and have leather soles. https://workingperson.com/media/cata...mage_65952.jpg Tried those socks like they give you in the hospital that have the traction things on them, but they just got holes anyway. |

That was freakin quick. Talked to Cox this morning was planning to turn off my business internet because ATT is cheaper. ATT wanted $87 for 50/10 and 5 static IPs. With a 3 year contract cox will do $90 for 50/10 and 5 statics 0r $109 for 100/20 and 5 statics. Been paying $164 for 50/10 with cox. att does not even offer anything faster than 50/10.
Called att to turn off my account with them. Had both active so I could move my DNS and server IPs. Within 30 minutes the att connection went dead. |
It is annoying how Cox, and so many other big companies are happy to screw the customers any way possible. Just mention cancelling and the good rates are suddenly on the table. I am a long time customer, and I have autopay all set up to just pay the bill without fail. They will raise the rates a little at a time and then I finally call them. Bam, big rate drop.
I need to check my internet speeds again. Do you use the speedtest.com or some other site for a reliable test? |
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1537812648.jpg
I just ran a speed test. I know my downloads are fast. Upload is kinda pokey. |
I use speedtest.net. My current speed is 53.51 down 10.59 up iwht 12ms ping.
Yours looks great, but I have cox business. It gets me assigned static IP addresses. My speed has been 50 down/ 10 up for quite some time. Now that att is in the game offering business connections with 50/10 and static IP addresses. Cox has come down quite a bit. att doesn't offer business connections faster than 50/10. Cox has had faster like 100/20, and 150/20 but is was twice the price of 50/10 until recent. With the business connection you get a rep that contact you with rate changes and deals you can take advantage of, I just dont understand why the buiness connections still limit the upload connection so much. Especially for what they charge for a business connection. |
At the building I worked in recently there were three different fiber optic companies with lines about 10 feet from our building. I asked a friend that works for AT&T that was there working on a fiber line what a top speed fiber connection costs and he said it was 6 figures per month. So several million per year. But it would be enough for fast internet for a university or large company. Backbone speeds. Arf Arf Arf.

At the office we had 256K DSL, could not get cable. Had a Mac based router that you surfed over 3 separate DSL connections. Later we added a fibre connection 3mb, and upgrade 2 of the DSLs to T1s, cable still not available. By the time I was taken out of the internet loop we were able to get cable. They got standard personal cable and still kept the T1 connections AND the expensive Fibre drop. We still have them all today despite adding another cable internet connection! Would be much less expensive AND faster uploads to get a business cable connection like I have at home and get rid of that 3mb fibre.

Oh boy, just got notifications. The two anime series I am keeping up on have new episodes.
Also I see tommorrow there will be New Big Bang Theory, and Young Sheldon to go with Better Call Saul. Programming has been nuthin I wanna watch for a few Months now. There still aren't any good movies. |
Hey, there is a strange really bright orb in the east rising higher and higher. And the extraterrestrials or the CIA must have stolen all of our clouds. I do remember back when I was younger the sky was blue. Maybe the sky will remain that way this afternoon when I am up flying around. That would be nice, unlikely, but nice.
|
Is that the mysterious orb that will burn your retinas when you stare at it? I hear it’s of extra-terrestrial origin.

morning all. Spent yesterday with a migraine and refused to go to work for good reason. Now today they want me to attend a team building thing that will required me to drive 60 miles north on a Saturday for 2.5 hours. I think not.

At the photolab where I worked for so many years, the boss would actually pay me a percentage of the profits from my one man department. He knew I was using my home computer on evenings and weekends to get some of the files produced. When that really kicked in is when I quit shooting weddings on weekends. Actually I never officially quit that, I just raised my prices to stupid prices that no one is going to pay. I will shoot a wedding, but you can hire a team of the top photographers from all over the world to shoot it for less. |
took the kids bug in on Saturday to have the horn replaced. there was a Cayman there getting worked on. I joked that VW oil might not work in it. The service tech said it was basically a beetle and it would be fine.
|
Most any modern oil of the correct viscosity would work in it. Some will have better results than other oils. There are differences in oils for sure. Just read through the longest thread in the 911 technical site, the one about oils. I would not put Pennzoil in my cars ever. I am not a fan of sludge.
|
Put a racing blend of Pennzoil in my first 944 Turbo. They changed the name and formula but said it was the same. I quit using it. Don't remember what I went to.
