We try to find a local restaurant that is not a chain. We prefer a local owned mom and pop restaurant. McDonalds is almost always just a clean bathroom picked by the passenger. When I drive by myself, I am less picky about a bathroom stop.

I still like to tease her about one truck stop mega stop that had several fast food places inside that she picked. It had 40 or 50 gas pumps. The bathrooms were huge, and the hand wash soap had grit in it, like mechanics use. Even in the ladies room, from what she told me. It was pretty bad.

Ouch. That's almost twice as much $$$ as the UC or Cal state schools (for residents).

Not much room for the bags of cash either. Probably lose more than we take home.

Way back in the "Happy Days" of the late 1950s and 60s my uncle was a teenager. He talked about how almost every boy he knew had a black leather jacket. He found a white leather jacket that fit him great, and was cheap. He bought it and loved the attention from the girls that saw someone that stood out from the crowd.

The one night he heard the phrase "I don't know who that group of kids was, but one of them was wearing a white leather jacket" the light bulb went off. He found a younger kid (sucker) to buy the white leather jacket and he had to sell some of his stuff, to buy a black leather jacket, to blend in.

On a fairly regular basis a friend will tell me he saw me driven the El Camino over at some area of town. I don't go to bars or massage parlors, bad places, so I have zero issues about it. I do get around as I drive a lot for my business, and the airports are in Guthrie, or far far west part of town, or Norman, or Calumet, and Tulsa and so on. I do get around. Nothing to hide.

If it is light colored, you could put charcoal ash on it and then run through the car wash. Then again, given your location it will probably rain and wash it off early. Put a big Lincoln emblem on the side with the static cling stuff. Peel it off as you head down the road? Nah, probably wouldn't fool them anyway and most probably don't know who makes the RDX. Maybe just have to do it on a really foggy day!

Maye we could fit the whole ATM inside?

Porsche-poor 12-05-2018 10:00 AM

Might be safer to just get a second job..............

flipper35 12-05-2018 10:08 AM

I thought the older boy was going to take care of you!

Porsche-poor 12-05-2018 10:10 AM

he is at collage now and is doing ok. The younger one is headed off to Loyola.

RKDinOKC 12-05-2018 11:16 AM

Have had my GTS appear on FB Car Spotting OKC twice. So somebody notices it.

Kinda consider it as retirement investment as well though. Mostly cause it's manual and worth more than what I spent on it.

Just had an interesting conversation with an engineer here. We were talking about the kid and college and he says well now you just have to work a lot more hours to pay for it. I looked at him and said yeah not here. He gave me a dumb look. So I pointed out that if I work 40 hours or 120 hours a week I get paid the same amount. Yeah he is that stupid to not get salaried.

flipper35 12-05-2018 12:35 PM

Well at least you get overtime right?

I might start getting it if the state has its way. Used to get straight time for anything over 40 then they bought us out and things went down hill.................

GH85Carrera 12-05-2018 12:39 PM

I can't imagine paying out 67K per year. My condolences to you, and congratulations to the kid.

Send em to a local community college and get yourself a Cayman GTS, with money left over. I sure hope you can find some scholarships to help with that bill. Wow.

Porsche-poor 12-05-2018 12:43 PM

We shall see. I wanted a Macan but that's not going to happen.

flipper35 12-05-2018 12:45 PM

flipper35 12-05-2018 12:45 PM
