Looks like I'll have to order "Rosetta Stone - Man"

GH85Carrera 12-16-2010 09:21 AM

The Dialectizer

Just set it to Redneck.

It will he'p wif th' Okies on this hyar thread as fine. Translation:
It will help with the Okies on this thread as well.

porsche4life 12-16-2010 10:11 AM

Dude, don't screw with okies and the weather. We know how to conjure up so nasty stuff

GH85Carrera 12-16-2010 11:14 AM

Sid, it looks like you are gonna get some white stuff real soon.

Geronimo '74 12-16-2010 11:18 AM

We've had some of it already over here...
Only a matter of minutes before it gets over there in OK... :D:D

GH85Carrera 12-16-2010 11:57 AM

The good news (for me) is that the snow is supposed to be a couple of inches in Sid's area, but less than .25 in the metro area. With snow forecasts it is always just a SWAG, Scientific Wild Ass Guess.

Weeuns gots us 'bout half foot today. twerent tons-o-fun but Peggy plodded along past the city folk in them shiny new fangled all wheel drive things. (as they watched from the ditchline. They must been huntin out of season. I hates dem road hunters.

Noah930 12-16-2010 12:50 PM

They say it's gonna get wet starting tonight and through the weekend. But so far the sun is shining and there are few clouds in the sky. Another beautiful day in La La Land.

nynor 12-16-2010 12:50 PM

i used to blow past the all wheel drive donuts in my '83 944. my secret: proper tires, all around. their secret: all season radials. guess what? all season radials suck in actual snow.

i have proper AT tires, emphasis on snow, on my rover. it rocks right past the all season donuts.

Rick V 12-16-2010 12:55 PM

I like the Yokohama Geolander AT's. They did very well last year in snow we measured in feet.

nynor 12-16-2010 01:09 PM

that is EXACTLY what i have on the rover. they rock.

Rick V 12-16-2010 01:18 PM

Yeah they do okay.

GH85Carrera 12-16-2010 01:19 PM

Years ago I bought real snow tires for the back of the El Camino. I would put them on every fall and take them off every spring. I plum wore them slick after 3 years. We did not have one single snow storm in those 3 years. They were snow repellent tires. I tried to get all my co-workers to chip in on the cost of new snow tires but they refused. I did not buy them and we had several big snow storms.

slodave 12-16-2010 01:28 PM

I actually had a set of studded snow tires once. Fun to drive on. :)

Rick V 12-16-2010 01:31 PM

And cool to watch at night. :)

nynor 12-16-2010 02:10 PM

i cut myself, dammit.

slodave 12-16-2010 02:12 PM

Nuts.

Rick V 12-16-2010 02:24 PM

if it is of any consolation, I didn't feel a thing.

nynor 12-16-2010 02:30 PM

i didn't feel anything, either. my kitchen knives are razor sharp.

Rick V 12-16-2010 02:58 PM
