Glen what’s your price for Sheetrock install, tape and texture? The last two guys that quoted it are getting scared off by the section that needs done that is 19’ up. 4 walls worth of Sheetrock and they want 3k! It’s only $400 worth of materials, but the labor is apparently the killer.
|
Sorry, I only do Sheetrock on projects that will fit all the materials in the 911 trunk. I did a patch in the garage wall and it is hidden by my air compressor so no one can see it but me, and it still ain't great, but more than "good enough".
One of the guys I used to work with now is a painter for interior walls, and does walls and texturing. It is a art to do it right. 19 feet in the air will require a lot of scaffolding. That is the expensive part. Renting and setup and tear down of the scaffolding is expensive. |
Glen, you just kick holes in the wall to stand in and patch them up again on the way down the wall. Easy and no scaffolding! :)

I also wanted to help. :D |
Afternoon - evening all. I'm the only one here to do CAD this week. I told everyone that my time is up for bids or first come first served. So far everyone is waiting nicely. We shall see how long that lasts.

Found some new exhaust tips to put on that z car...

Those really belong on a V8. Do it in the GTS! 🤣🤣🤣

That’s slightly too much for a straight six, Richard. But I like your thinking!

Here ya go...

That first one looks hot! And the exhaust & aero should still allow me to garage park the Z. Winner!

When I ran at Laguna Secca the wisdom there said even a 100% stock 911 could be illegally loud under hard acceleration. So I followed the wisdom, and had an extension added on that I could slip on at the track and hold in place with a muffler clamp. It just brought the exhaust out a little and pointed it down. I never did do a sound check to see if it was any quieter but I could show I tried. It was never an issue. And high temp rattlecan paint just does not hold up. It all burned off. |
Morning all. Stupid rain keeps up just enough to keep me from staining the new fence sections.

Phew, back home.
I went to lunch and met up with Richard. I picked a place close to a grocery store so I could stock up on some stuff for my road trip. The intersection near the store I wanted to go to was getting totally revamped. One lane each direction. and backup up 1/2 a mile. Scratch that place. So I figured a second choice was better. That diverted me to a second mission, pick up a 4TB hard drive for the computer working on the big new project. I knew Staples was much easier to get in and out of the parking lot. As I pull up, crap, it is not Staples anymore, it is a Goodwill donation center. Crap, that means Office Depot and their parking lot is only accessible going west. So back through heavy traffic, and three light cycles to get the drive. As I am walking back to my car, I hear the train going by. Crap, that means the traffic will be at a standstill in all directions. It takes two light cycles to get into a lane that takes me into more traffic, but it is moving. My water temp gauge is climbing and the AC is struggling. Finally we get to go 35 MPH for a 1/2 a mile and the engine cools off a bunch. On the way to the Grocery store, more construction, and one road is just closed, so just go a different way. I was just going to pop into a Target super center and get a few items. The drooling moron in front of me was going 1 MPH, and would come to a stop at the stop signs and wait for them to turn green I guess. I had to tap my horn at both stop signs to get him rolling at 1 MPH again. I finally get to the far side of the lot where the safe parking is, and get in and out. I was so happy to get back to my side of town where the traffic is almost none. |
What! They closed Staples?
Was there just the other day. Where do I take my old electronic stuff for recycling? |
Try the Office Depot across the intersection. Just don't go at lunch time on a work day. The traffic is horrible, all the time. Of course it is Oklahoma horrible traffic, not Atlanta, LA or Dallas levels.
Just take your old electronics up to your main home office, and leave them in a room with other junk. ;) |
That's even farther
|
We have a guy that comes and pick up all our electronics recycling at no charge and donates the proceeds to St. Judes. Nice guy.
