if the cat has claws we draw straws to see who gets to put it on him.

RKDinOKC 04-01-2016 09:12 AM

Just set the target in the sun on the window sill.

APRIL FOOLS!

RKDinOKC 04-01-2016 02:27 PM

The doc didn't say "April Fools" after telling me I was going in for eye surgery to replace the jelly inside my left eyeball.

Jim, a travel tip for you...

Oh Haha 04-01-2016 05:49 PM

Oh boy.

Our daughter turns 10 tomorrow.

Having her partay at the local roller rink with 12 of her friends then 4 of them are staying overnight.

I think I'll find a project in the garage for the evening.

The boy is staying with the in-laws so he doesn't have to deal with it.

The vacation trip last November couldn't read street signs etc, so really relied on the Cayenne's NAV. Especially when I got left by the group while I was in the restroom at the Vodka brewery in the middle of the hill country in TX at the end of our driving tour on Saturday. Just pulled up the hotel on the Nav and went where she told me. I know the group didn't take the route I did because there were 3 low water crossings that had a foot of water, glad they had those depth gauge things or I would have thought it was too deep. I know they wouldn't take their 928s through those crossings. I got back a few minutes before the group despite leaving a few minutes after they did. It was kinda fun because it was like the Cayenne chose a route that IT had more fun on.

I thought retirement life would be easy. Picking up a u-haul trailer shortly and loading today. Salvation Army will swing by this afternoon to pick up furniture we're donating. Then clean up the apartment so we can check out tomorrow. This is too much like work!

Oh Haha 04-02-2016 05:25 AM

Jim- it's busy, busy right now but once you get things in place it will seem like time stops.

Enjoy it, my friend!

RKDinOKC 04-02-2016 09:14 AM

You are living in MOVING TIME. That is a whole different universe than RETIREMENT TIME.

When my sister moved from Harlingen TX to Rolla MO she hired Mexicans to pack their stuff.
We didn't have to worry about them putting in any illegals because we were already on the US side of the border. LOL.

They used every square inch. We had a U-Haul Truck, and Mini Van, and a big Chrysler. There was just enough room for a driver in each vehicle and that was it. We drove from Harlingen to Corpus and added a car trailer to the U-Haul Truck. Put the Chrysler on the trailer and moved stuff from the passenger seat of the mini Van to the driver's seat of the Chrysler. My BIL did not like driving. He slept most of the trip.

My sister and I drove straight thru. Took 24 hours the way my sister drove. Slept 3 hours then my sister drove me home from Rolla to OKC. Don't know what my sister was on, I was on coke and beef jerky. There were a couple of times we were going to stop and sleep, but we both felt good so we kept on going. She was jazzed about saving the rental on the truck and trailer by not stopping and adding another day.

Jim it is never fun to move. It is just one more thing.

Yep. Trailer is packed...full! The car should be packed soon. Still have apartment cleaning to do. Lots of stuff getting tossed out. Our attack schnauzer is curious, but strangely enough, she doesn't seem stressed.

If that is all you are moving, you might as well be moving to one of those Tiny House things.

GH85Carrera 04-02-2016 02:19 PM

So almost ready to roll Jim?

I was in the yard killing weeds and downing sprinkler repair. Them Mrs Carrera told me we were going to some friends house to warheads men play with their huge balls. How boring. I would rather watch the weeds die.

Oh Haha 04-02-2016 02:46 PM

Yeah, well I have 8 ten year old girls running around our house tonight.

The weather is crap so they have to stay indoors.

And my wife bonked me on the head with the van rear hatch. sonofbiatch, that hurt!!

Says she was trying to keep the balloons from floating away.

Yes, I will milk the crap out of it, in case you were wondering.

Jim Richards 04-02-2016 03:29 PM

Almost ready to roll. We'll finish cleaning up the apartment tomorrow morning and start the road trip in the early afternoon.

Talk about crap weather, the 2nd of April, and a coming and going blizzard going on outside., mixed with sunshine. It's just warm enough not to stick to the ground, but with 45 mph winds, it's truly ugly outside. Woodburner has the house to a toasty 74 degrees, and looking forward to Bratwurst/beer for dinner.

Ok, watching a bunch of men play a very silly game is better than 8 little girls running around and having a sore head to boot, you win. OU is getting their butts whipped bad. That makes it less fun here. They do have good pizza however. I just wish the game would get done. How long does this go on? It seems like hours already.
