We had 6 inches last Wednesday and it is finally melted off so we can get fresh stuff. I have the snow blower ready so I assume we will not get much.

Porsche-poor 11-05-2019 01:51 PM

The sun is out here and its mostly warm at 55*

We got together for a pic, and dinner. Burp.

No we did not eat there, they are an advertiser for the monthly postcards. We at at a nice restaurant down the road.

flipper35 11-06-2019 04:53 AM

Well, no snow this morning. A bit of freezing rain and sleet though. Whoopie! At least it is warmer out.

Porsche-poor 11-06-2019 06:06 AM

morning all

nothing like e cold to ruin weekend plans. I wish I could be like Glen and never get sick.

GH85Carrera 11-06-2019 06:16 AM

Well I did get sick once, I did not like it. It is sorta like driving a boring car. Why drive a econobox car that looks like every other on the road.

The bad news about unique cars is I hear people often tell me they saw me driving in some part of town miles from home. It would really suck to have a car that everyone knows if I was going to bars or strip joints. I have never understood the going to bars anyway, so it is not a real burden to avoid them.

Porsche-poor 11-06-2019 06:20 AM

well i'm liking this very much. I was going to take off and go see the kid play a show but not now

Jim Richards 11-06-2019 06:37 AM

Well, I’m down for the count, too. My lower back is killing me. It’s probably a coincidence, but we went to a new restaurant for Taco Tuesday last night. Their chairs weren’t too comfortable. By the time dinner was over, I was barely able to move. This sucks.

Jim Richards 11-06-2019 06:38 AM

Oh, Happy Saturday.

Are you sure it was the chairs?

Well, it’s either the chairs or I’m randomly falling apart.

Y'all can keep that snow crap up north please. It is 69 and clear skies for today. Tomorrow the rain gets here. We may well be driving to Eureka Springs in the rain again. Friday and Saturday in Arkansas is supposed to be 50 and clear. Perfect for looking at pretty leaves and perfect curvy roads.

We have a small group headed over for the car show after coffee, driving through SW Missouri and lunch at Sparky's.

We had another Rallye a couple weekends ago. It rained the whole time, literally stopped the moment we pulled back into town when we finished driving Saturday evening. Still had a great time!

Nah. The food was great. The best carnitas I've ever had.

The car show they have is my type of car show. Clean it up on the top side, and talk to the other Porsche lovers. Super low key and laid back. Cool cars from a very few 356s and 914s to a few long hoods, and lots more mid years, SCs, Carreras and a few more 964s lots of 993s, 996s, and 997s 991s, and several GT3s and GT3RS and for the last few years a 918. It is cool to see a 918 actually driven and covered in bug and road dirt like a regular car and not some museum piece. Of course a plethora of Boxsters and Caymans and Macans and Cayennes. I think the 924 is about the only street Porsche not there.

Lots of friendly people. They are expecting a huge turnout. About 350 Porsches.

What? No Q-tips?

Oh hell no. I will take it to the car wash and wash off the major road grim and bugs, and I will clean the windshield. The tires will not be touched and neither is the interior. I do pop open the engine compartment and show off my engine. The engine is right there to see. With modern 911s, there is nothing but two electrical fans and some fluid containers.

It will get washed again next week when I get back, and then the car cover put on. Not much to drive to for winter time. If the weather is clear I will drive it to PCA board meetings, and monthly breakfasts.

That used to happen to me a long time ago, until I found out I was allergic to tortilla chips and salsa.

I'd sit there with my buddies drinking beer and eating chips an salsa until closing time, and the next morning I'd have a bad headache and feel like crap.
it had to be the chips!!!!
:D

Jim Richards 11-06-2019 12:58 PM

Nah, I'm not allergic to that stuff. I think I can live solely on chips and salsa. :D
