I get a lot of flyers and airplane brokers that send unsolicited offers to buy our 182T. I just trash them all. I sometimes get email from dealers to buy aircraft. I got one today:

OK, just the options were 600K. I have no real clue but I bet that is a couple of million easy. I sent it to my partner, and I figure we need that airplane and a new 1.5 million dollar Leica digital camera and then pay to have a 20 inch hole put in the floor. So maybe 5 or 6 million. Then we can hire some super hot secretaries, and a few dozen salesmen. Yea, that the ticket. All I have to do is win a big lottery. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket, naaa that does not change the odds enough.

Maybe next year.

That sucks. Does that mean you can fight through the mess and apply for unemployment? They have paid unemployment premiums on you for all those years, you are entitled to it.

Or it might be the time to go on disability.

RKDinOKC 05-05-2020 08:31 AM

Furlough is 2 to 5 months. They are paying 100% of benefits. Can claim unemployement. Waiting to hear from disability lawyer.

Undestand people are NOT hearing from unemployment office for more than a month.

GH85Carrera 05-05-2020 08:37 AM

With your luck it will take 4.5 months to start getting the unemployment payments, and they will put you back on payroll. At least the benefits continue. That is worth a lot. We pay a lot for health insurance and we are old geezers on Medicare. Not like there is much choice. At age 65, you are on it like it or not for the most part.

GH85Carrera 05-05-2020 10:12 AM

WOW.

I was forced to drive my 911 again. It is 72 degrees, low humidity and NICE outside. I figured I needed to fill up the tank. Premium unleaded, 100% gasoline $2.08 per gallon. I have paid over $5 per gallon in California and it was gasohol to boot.

Now it is time to mow the bosses yard. The jerk is making me go mow his his yard. I am gonna drink some of his beer while on the job and take my time and do it slow.

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 12:48 AM

GTS still at the detailer's. Hope they are doing a good job.

I picked up the Elky and was anticipating a blast up to 80 or so to see if the vibration had gone away. On round trip to drop it off and the way to get it we saw cops everywhere and they were pulling folks over all over the turnpike. About .8 cops in a 25 mile span. For some reason my desire to really test the vibration at speed subsided. It can wait until later.

It is beautiful weather here today. Still in the 50s and light breeze empire a high of mid 70s. Last evening we set up the fountain in the front garden and it was like San Diego weather. 70 and zero wind, low humidity. I like it.

Morning all. Sorry to hear about the time off Richard. So far no talk of that here but back in 2008 I think during the slow down everyone had to take a week off without pay.

Porsche-poor 05-06-2020 06:53 AM

yeah that many cops will put a damper on all the fun.

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 06:57 AM

In years past when oil industry was all that slumped and the founder was still alive they loaned out employees to other businesses instead of layoffs or furloughs. Back then I was a department head.

Monday, when the furlough starts, will be 1 day short of my 40th year.

Porsche-poor 05-06-2020 06:58 AM

screen those calls that will come asking for help.

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 07:04 AM

Glen, guess you will need to take the Turner Turnpike to the first exit and back to legally go 75mph.

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 07:10 AM

Was told not to do anything for work while on furlough including phone calls and emails.

Porsche-poor 05-06-2020 07:12 AM

yep cause you know they will come. If I am forced to take a week for free I'm not working for free.

I hope things improve and you are back to work soon.

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 07:56 AM

Especially since found to get considered for disability you have to make less than $10,000 for a YEAR. Don't know how someone that becomes medically disabled is supposed to financially cope? Was looking at being able to use 401K and maintain current salary until 85, but have lost 25% of 401K thanks to the virus thing.

Porsche-poor 05-06-2020 08:22 AM

yeah that sucks. I have not looked at mine. I hope its not needed for another 10+ years at this point.

start the unemployment process Monday and lets hope its gets thru.

Do they count SSI in that $10K?

RKDinOKC 05-06-2020 09:16 AM

If you are trying to get disability, you don't get SSI.
