Unfortunately, now you have time to travel it is a bad time to travel!

Ah, what a time sink.

The wife insisted I take a day off work and drive her up to Enid. She wanted to plant her mother's garden while it is such wonderful weather.

My MIL's house in just a few miles north of Vance and they were flying a lot today. There were more trainers flying over than at a air show. The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II would usually come over in pairs flying formation. the Northrop T-38 Talon makes a LOT more noise and they usually went over one at a time.

Between the two there were sometimes only short periods of time to talk with no airplanes overhead. The locals just say it is the sound of money.

With my health issues traveling is not an option unless.... I can rent an RV with a head AND shower AND washer and drier. Maybe even a head built into the driver's seat. Brother with MS had a head built into his wheel chair.

If you have time, does it matter if you only drive 10 or 100 miles a day?

GH85Carrera 05-07-2020 08:51 AM

Around here 100 miles will get into the farm country. The saw a lot of wheat yesterday. Some farmers are just cutting it before it is ready to harvest and going to bails of hay. It will not ripen for several more weeks. I guess livestock love winter wheat hay. Many of the silos are full, and they have huge piles of wheat stored on the ground covered with tarps in 200 yard long piles.

It is only 65 degrees and almost noon. Tonight we have possible thunderstorms and more baseball size hail possible.:eek:

With luck that will not form with all the cool weather.

Furlough means no paycheck. Doing financial planning instead of travel planning.

Since the nail incident I've taken imodium to travel. Only had an incident once per week. Since the stroke and car wreck it has gotten worse. Up to 4 times a day. The time imodium offers helps, but get no warning, can't even make it 15ft to the restroom. Sometimes I can make it out of a chair. Chairs are covered with plastic and a towel. Wear sweatpants with elastic cuffs to not leave a trail (laundering sweat pants and underwear is cheaper than diapers.) Have throw rugs on carpeted areas. Launder throw rugs instead of cleaning carpet. Sweatpants with cuffs has reduced leaving trails.

This is the main reason why I think I should be able to get disability.

It is motivation to sell the 928 I suspect.

RKDinOKC 05-07-2020 09:38 AM

Go to doctor in the morning and have to wear a face mask. Don't have one. Said I could make one out of a t-shirt or sock but have to have one.

It's with my heart doctor to determine I will suvive a colonoscopy later this month. Guess it's because they put you out to shove a camera where the sun don't shine.

flipper35 05-07-2020 09:43 AM

You could always use a banana if the random pic signs are correct!

RKDinOKC 05-07-2020 09:48 AM

Yep, selling the 928 would really help.

Also the stock market coming back would really help my 401K too.

Before all this virus stuff started calculated could stop working now and maintain my current income till 85 years old. Then would be left with SSI. Could have maintained indefinitely if able to get disability.

RKDinOKC 05-07-2020 09:49 AM

Don't have either a banana or a bandana.

Did make a nice pot roast yesterday. Tasty, but no good for a mask.

Brother said he's seen pictures of people using women's panties. Alas, have none of those either.

Did it come with butcher's twine? There ya go!

This one gets to the point, and can be electrifying and distribute the risk!

And as a bonus. :D

The silliest thing is that was ANY mask, your beard will prevent it from being even a little bit effective. Unless you wear a space suit like helmet the mask will not seal against your beard. It will be cosmetic only.

flipper35 05-07-2020 11:44 AM

Are you saying his beard is NOT a filter? I think a little K&N filter charger oil would work fine!

RKDinOKC 05-07-2020 02:26 PM

Told them have a long beard that is 8 inches below my chin. They said didn't matter as long as I had some sort of mask. Including a bandana or something made from a t-shirt or sock. Must be more worried about me coughing, sneezing or spitting on someone else rather than protecting myself. Most masks don't really help anyways. They might stop actual droplets, but don't stop the virus once a droplet is on the mask. That's why there is social distancing too. It's gotta be one of those N-2 masks, and does no good if you don't have goggles that also stop the virus. That's why they say don't touch your face.

Honestly feel like I need to self quarantine for 2 weeks after my doctors appointment. I have to go to the main Mercy hospital enterance, then will be taken to my appointment. Sounds like they are funneling everyone thru the main enterance. A bit concerning. Especially since was told I tested virus free from my ER visit with mini stroke a couple of weeks ago.

It is far enough from the main hospital entrance to the heart doctor's office I am going to have to use a walker. Still may need to be wheelchaired to the doc's office and back. Can only go so far until I have to sit down or start getting dizzy and unsteady.

GH85Carrera 05-08-2020 05:49 AM

Mercy used to have a valet service so patients can just pull up and they park your car. I bet they stopped that however. I would not want to be the driver of other people's cars that are going to the hospital.

My dad used the valet a few times.

We had some thunderstorms roll through last night. Lots of good thunder that would rattle the whole house. .65 of an inch rain and no lumpy - chunky stuff.
