No, that is the El Camino. The Porsche is for hauling ass, the Chebby Elky is for hauling stuff.

I am watching the F1 practice. Practice 1 & 2 were called off due to fog, the medical helicopter can’t fly so they don’t run the cars.
P3 is at 41 degrees air temp. Lance Stroll is not “feeling well” so Nico Hulkenberg is filling in for him. He arrived at the track in his personal 911GT2RS that he bought from Nico Rosberg’s father. Nice daily driver. |
Stepping on that nail ended my ability to heel and toe. And now after this last stroke proper clutch usage has gone out the window. So just sold my 5 speed and only drive my Cayenne and have given up on driving in anger for fun. Now just have to keep myself from driving like a democrat and pulling to the left.

Whew, fun autocross. I got my shoulder workout. A few really sharp corners make it a workout for a geezer with no power steering. I was not thinking about the autocross Friday when I filled up the 21 gallon gas tank. So extra weight on the front tires as a bonus.
There were two different cones that tried to attack me! They ran out into my path and I had to kill them. Really they did!. It could not possibly be my driving! One was a center punch on the front valance. It went under the car and got drug a few corners before I spit it out. I thought it to not attack a 911 ever again. We had near perfect weather, clear skies and zero chance of rain, 72 degrees when we started and 82 when we were done with a steady Oklahoma light breeze of 10 to 15 MPH winds. The turnout was surprisingly small. The club made 30 buck, so it was not a loss! We each got 10 runs since the turnout was small we were done by noon. I hardly broke a sweat. Dang that is fun. For sure the biggest reason I own an old air cooled 911. One guy was there in a 2105 Jag Something - something type R and it was using all the torque vectoring, traction control, ABS and computer aids to make a fast path. He was fast. In the end a Miata with street tires and a great driver was FTD. |
Back to Monday morning. But another Saturday for Richard now.

Friend in Austin tells me how cheap I am to not subscribe to cable and ESPN so I can watch F1. Yhen tells me how boring the races are. The least expensive was $45/MO last time I checked. Sorry waeching F! just aint worth it to watch Hamilton win after leading the entire race.

They showed an interview or zoom meeting between the commentator, Rubens Barrichello and Kimi Räikkönen as that race is when Kimi broke the record for the most races started. And Kimi finished it, as well.
I think the commentator was Martin Brundle and he had won the race at the Nürburgring in the past. Anyway he said in jest that he just knew Kimi was having trouble sleeping from the excitement of the record. Of course Kimi look totally bored and said the best part is now the hub hub of the record will be behind him and he can get to racing. In another interview Kimi said F1 racing right now is just a hobby he gets paid for. In a slug for a car he has little chance to finish in the points, much less win. Kimi has no contract to drive next year so he likely will retire. Fernando Alonso is due to return next year and he has a two year contract. He might be able to break the record again. |
It is interesting that Lance Stroll wanted to go racing in F1. So his dad bought a team. Now his dad has bought Aston Martin and he will rename his F1 team Aston Martin. They are doing better than McLaren and are in third place in the builders championship. Way ahead of Ferrari.
Of course the road going Astons are now using a Mercedes engine. |
Morning all. Lots of work to get done. I watched part of the race yesterday and might finish to night. Its not that fun when you know who will win.

If that cone gets a good lawyer it will tell a tale of a different sort.

I have been watching a TV series that is on Amazon. It was a British show called Time Team. I have to use the closed captions to have a chance at some of the accents.
They went to some city where a viewer sent in a letter. He was digging in his back yard garden and found what he though were Roman foundations. So the real archeologists investigated. They could see that the neighbors house had clear lines from the days when the walls were made. They went into the neighbor's house and found a wooden beam that was obvious very old, and hand cut with no saws. The did a tree ring analysis and dated it to 1242. Now that is an old house. Of course they went to one site that dated to 48 AD. Two digit dates. In Oklahoma City if one goes back just to the 1850's there is no civilization or buildings at all. The Indians may well have camped here but the took the Teepee with them, and left no structures behind. They were a true stone age peoples back then. |
I had some barrels made to change the width and offset of some wheel centers i liked. The new wheels are not round and crooked. Will a wheel shop or scrap yard buy them?
