Finally finished mowing yesterday afternoon. Will mow again Thursday before we head out Friday to get the daughters winter clothes and visit.

We have had the A/C on for days now.

Winter clothes? Is the a/c to much for her?

We are taking summer clothes to her and getting the winter ones from her. She was allowed one oversized duffel when she flew out.

ah now that makes sense. Time to change the seasons up.

Are Wisconsin winter clothes much different than Alaska winter clothes? The coat is the one big difference I can understand.

We layer here since the weather changes all the time and we seldom stay below 0* for any length of time so no one here really wears a parka. We do have different styles of gaiters and balaclavas that are worn, especially when blowing snow off the driveway. We also have good insulated leather boots for hiking/hunting/clearing the drive.

For hunting the kids both have hybrid mitts/gloves. The mitten part folds back leaving a gloved hand to operate the firearm. Otherwise ski gloves for most activities.

What we do have is wind. Sometimes it is 0* and 40-50mph winds which sucks/blows/whatever. More so when there is snow on the ground converted to large drifts.

And in the summer you import the Florida mosquitoes.

The weather forecast for tonight is for possible severe weather here. We finally warmed up enough to make some supercells and thunderstorms. Possible hail and high winds and maybe spinning air. Network TV will be interrupted with "wall to wall" weather coverage and no commercials. Dozens of storm chasers reporting in and tracking the storms mile by mile. The most advanced weather radar on the planet at the TV station we watch, and two helicopters, and 30 or so storm trackers on the ground. Most of them are meteorologists, not just weather geeks.

One thing we all hear regularly is NO one wants to see Val Caster on TV near your own neighborhood. Val is the number one storm chaser. He goes out with his wife every storm and drives around. He works for the station and is not an independent chaser.

He has been right there to photograph the major storms in the area. If he is close to your house, it is not a good thing.

I bet not but if the storms miss him then put him on the roof.

Golly computers are fun. I had to call back to the newspaper and start over with tech support. After an hour, I got that whipped. So that is working again.

Then I thought I might do some actual work and the business bookkeeping is something that is easier to do a little all the time, and not wait until it is way behind. So I went to the bank site and tried to log in. I kept getting a error that it can't find the enterprise server. So joy of joys I called the bank for tech support. It is a local owned bank, and the good news is the phone is answered and the chick that answered the phone was the one to help me. She suggested I try a different browser, and then I reboot my computer. I know it was not my computer, but I did, still no luck. So I fired up my laptop and had to search for the bank and find the login page. On my regular computer I just have a favorite already set up.

As soon as I went to the log in page I suspected I found the problem, and I did. They have totally revamped and changed the login procedure. It is an all new web page and layout, and log in procedure, with an all new web address. Instead of killing the old link, or just automatically forwarding it, that just leave the old page up to make me frustrated.

So I changed my favorite to the new address, and logged right in. Now I have to figure out how to find the data I download on the new web layout.

Likely some of the "not invented here" syndrome with new management. The new boss has to put their personal stamp on the system.

The paper's old interface was super simple, a few clicks and I had the day's paper download as a PDF. Now after the complicated login, I have to go to a sub page, and then a link on another sub page to download the paper. Or if I was insane, I could open each page individually and then go to the next page, one at a time.

The bank's site may well be better, and easier to use eventually, but it is all different.

I download the data for my QuickBooks to be up to date. It downloaded every transaction from the day the account was opened. It took a while to figure out how to skip updating a thousand transactions that are all up to date anyway. Hopefully it will only download the current stuff from now on.

We ended up with 2.30 inches of rain, and no hail or high winds. It was 55 degrees this morning when I got up. The high is mid 70s. The weekend is supposed to be wonderful so I will likely be in the garage doing maintenance on my old cars. I change the antifreeze on the Elky every other spring, so that is due. I never change the antifreeze on the 911, the OEM lifetime antifreeze is hard to find.

I also need to do a oil change and transmission fluid change on the 911 after a couple of track days. That 130+ miles of track time at Eagles canyon was some hard driving. Oil is cheap, and I like it fresh.

I also need to replace the AC evaporator blower fan. Not the motor, just the squirrel cage. When I upgraded the motor to the Hurricane version I had a hell of a time getting the old motor to let go of the fan. I guess I managed to bend it just a little and it rattles at certain fan speeds.

Morning all. Not sure what the weekend will hold as far as chores go.

I just got my flag up, and the bunting for the mailbox for Memorial day.

In the back of the closet in the part that I never get back to normally, the ballast or the florescent bulbs are dying. So one chore the bosses wife assigned to me was to repair that. The only time I got that far into the closet is to get to the suit cases stored on a back shelf. There are 4 sets of two bulb fixtures in the closet and the back pair are 50-50 on if they light up. She insists on 100%. The suggestion of using a flashlight back there was not accepted as a valid fix.

confined space entry. Set a watch and make her stay put the whole time you are there.......flashlight will work just fine next time.

I made a run to the local NAPA store for some antifreeze. It is a large store, and the are the local warehouse. I go in an they have a huge display of NAPA brand antifreeze, no Prestone, like I have used for the last 30 years. So I went to the counter and waited for one someone to help. A chick and two guys all at different computers. One guy was finishing up with a client, another was counting his change drawer, and the chick was busy flirting with some other employee. She finally decided to wait on me.

I asked for Prestone, original formula, old school green stuff. She asked if I wanted to 50-50 and I assured her I had plenty of water at home, and did not need to buy diluted antifreeze. So she had to wander off to the back and go through a door to the warehouse to get it.

Back in the good old days it was on display in the store and cheap. It is rater pricey now.

Ah well, that is done.
