I am back in shorts!
71 degrees and it is not even noon yet. I am past ready for warm weather. |
I made a run to the hazardous waste disposal site. It is "free" except it is part of my trash and water bill. I had 5 gallons of motor oil, some rabbit deterrent spray my wife had, some rechargeable batteries, and 3 - 8 foot florescent light bulbs, and one mercury vapor UV bulb. They took it all and off I went knowing it will be disposed of properly.

Phew, hard weekend. Yesterday I did the 911's annual brake fluid change, and "while I was in there" changed the rear pads as they were thin. The fronts were changed last year and are still fine.
Today the mean boss's wife made me go dig in the garden. Digging up Asters. They have a VERY tight root structure, and it was hard to get that huge bush dug up and separated. Parts were to our dental hygienist, parts went to the master gardener's best friend, and some is going to the landfill. |
Morning all. Nice weekend with the kids in Eugene for birthday dinner out. Now back to ZZZZZZZ!
|
I got the yard mowed and then took a shower just in time to butt sit and watch the eclipse from our back porch. The sun was just a small sliver at maximum.
|
didn't see a thing here. clouds and the wrong path.
|
Morning all. Typical spring weather for the next few days.
|
We have cold off, and expect a coupe days of rain. That will be good.
A good time to take a nap. |
Morning all. Not much to report here. Still hunting....
|
We had an EARLY morning. My wife went in for a endoscopy and colonoscopy. Two fer one procedure. She is OK and taking a nap. We had to get up and 5:45 AM to get ready to be there. No major issues found, and she will learn more next week when she goes back for a followup.
|
Fingers crossed for you.
|
Morning all. The weekend is supposed to be great then go down hill fast. Lets see if they are fibbing again.
|
We are heading into several days of great weather. Perfect timing for the Porsche dealership's Motors in the morning. Always a great time.
Mrs. Carrera's scopes went fine. No major issues. He took a few biopsies and she goes to see him next Wednesday for a followup. |
Morning. Great to hear all is well.
|
Fantastic spring weather here today. Mrs. Carrera is at the BIG nursery is Stillwater, OK today with three of her friends in the car, and one more joining her from Enid. No doubt the back of her Macan will be loaded with plants to plant. The new flowerbed will be a cinch to dig in with nothing but fresh soil. She will fill it with perennials. The multiple other flowerbeds will get a variety of what ever she likes.

It is toad orgy time in our Koi pond. The filters were in need of cleaning, so we were out there doing that. There were 4 toads in the pump box, two were coupled up, several strings of eggs, and I counted 6 toads that I could see, and I heard more "singing" the song of their people, er toads calling for more females. I suspect most of them were born in our (their) Koi pond. The box where the pump is, is a bad place for toads, as the can get sucked underwater up against the bag that surrounds the pump and drown.
There are two filters that should stop them, but I guess they can squeeze past the edges. We will have lots of tadpoles and the Koi will get lots of free meals. I rescued all I could find in the pump box. |
We have a birds nest in a bush in our front entryway.
A bird has taken up residence and is quite brave. When we came back from a walk yesterday, we looked and she was maybe a foot away in the nest. I looked later in the evening, she was still in the nest. |
|
One of our neighbors asked about the chirping or singing of the toads. They had no idea what it was making the noise. I explained it was just a common toad. Then they asked if we had bought them. I laughed and said nope they are wild toads that found our Koi pond within days if it getting running.
They are no more our toads than the birds, crickets or or any other wildlife in the yard. |
Morning all. The only wild life I have to report on is either a trash panda or a grey squirrel a few random birds that get to eat what the other two do not.
