Morning all. Working from home today. Probably get more done here that at work.
|
Weeee having fun reconciling the checkbook balances.
My personal account, the local Porsche club account, and the company account. Easy enough to do, just not much fun. |
Nope never is.
|
I guess the fun part is seeing that everything balances, and no money is missing. And damn, I wish a few of our clients would pay us. Even better, all them pay us!
|
Morning all. going to be a long week. Doc appt tomorrow maybe. The wife thought she had a cold but no its the crud. She tested positive Saturday. Today is her birthday so thats a mess. Life is so fun right now.
|
Yuck. Now you have to take care of her, and not share the crud with her.
I "get" to mow and fertilize the yard today. That way it will really grow and I will get to mow it more often! |
Yeah but who is going to take care of me?
|
Just don't get sick! That is always my plan. I was sick once and I did not like it. It is against my belief system, so I just stay healthy.
I sure had fun mowing the yard today. Mowing is actually the easy part. The hard part was pushing the fertilizer spreader. That had me huffing an puffing, like an old man. Tonight the sprinkler runs, and we will hear the grass starting to explode in growth. |
I was looking at my personal credit card activity. The hotel in Palm Springs charged my card for the week long stay three weeks early. That is illegal in Oklahoma, not sure about California. I know a few of the other guys going to parade said they had been charged as well. Today, I saw the refund on my account.
Someone got fired for sure. That cost the hotel many 10s of thousands of dollars if they did it to all 1,000+ attendees. They have to pay a percentage to the CC processing services to make the charge, and the same fee to process the refund. And in two weeks, we get charged again. For my personal situation, it really was not going to make a difference. My closing date is after Parade, so I don't have to pay that charge for 30 days after that. It will be a large hunk of money for the trip. The other hotels, lots of California gasoline, and meals. What the heck, its just money. |
Morning. Someone pushed the wrong button I bet.
|
Yea, I don't doubt they have everything on a computer and just run a batch process and done. They just ran that three weeks early. My heart bleeds for them.
|
Morning all. Still at home for now.
|
How is your wife? Hopefully on the mend.
We had several thunderstorms in the area. It rained several inches on all sides of us recently, not a drop here. There was a huge complex of thunderstorms dropping rain in the west, coming this way. And it was like magic, they just evaporated and died out just a few miles from us. It is just weird. The lakes are all full from the runoff in other areas that drain into the lakes, so that is the good news. |
Yea she is feeling better. We both just have to test negative to return to the office.
|
Morning all. Once again from home.
|
Getting excited. One week from tomorrow I head west to California.
My 911 is ready, and I will start packing my making my list of what to take with me. |
I called the guy we work with at the large company that is a great client. They owe us a hunk of money, way over double the price of my first house. Some of it was delivered to them in February. I basically whined that we are a little tiny company and would really like some money out of them. We have bills to pay! He said he is sure they have been paid by their client, and he acted surprised we had yet to get a check. Hopefully he can rattle the cages of accounts payable to cough up the dough. Typical of large companies, they know we will always jump when they say to and get the project done ASAP. We can't raise the price much, as someone else will get the project.
Just show me the money! We are bidding a new project for them now. We really love their business, but not their pay schedule. |
terms and conditions..............1/2 up front.

Our airplane, like a car has an annual registration. It is pretty cheap, but the State of Oklahoma wants their taxes. The FAA is based right here in OKC, and they send out a new registration card each year the says we first registered it in 2018, and it is good until 2028. Of course it lists all the airplane info like the model number and serial number and of course the tail number.
No where on it at all is any mention of the year it is issued. The FAA makes the rules that it must be in the airplane when it is in operation. OK, no big deal, it is a piece of thick paper. Only our federal government would make a law that we have to have a new little piece of paper, that in every way is identical to the old one, and that same government hires employees to print the card, and mail out a piece of paper every single year, that is valid for 10 years. |
