Morning all. Nothing to report here.

GH85Carrera 06-13-2024 03:48 PM

I had a real blast at Barber Motorsport track. The 911 Turbo S is insane fast. The 911 GTS is fast, but not compared to the turbo.

At the end of the two days of training, that held a competition on the autocross course. The 4 guys on my team for two days were good. Our 4 man team of 3 laps each, get out, touch hands with the next teammate, and they had to buckle up. We won by over a second over the other 4 teams.

Our team each got a Pirelli 1st place cap exactly like the winner of all F1 races receive. Max must has a ton of them. Now I have one so I am just like Max!

Wow! Sounds like fun. Can't wait for more pictures. We are off tomorrow to see the oldest graduate with a masters.

Not much going on here. Happy Fathers day this weekend!

GH85Carrera 06-14-2024 12:48 PM

Phew.

We got to drive Talladega race track. At 100 MPH it takes a lot of right steering input to not slide down the track. At about 115 it is pretty neutral, at 120 is it perfect. I got to125 and never once heard my nagagtor yell slow down!

My day at Barber Motorsports is done. Weeeeeeeeee It was fun,

Many people were impressed I was on the track with a car older than many or most of them. I was like they built the track for me. Get to third gear, and never shift. Pictures when I get home.

GH85Carrera 06-17-2024 05:24 AM

We are back home as of last night. Tons of laundry to do for my wife.

I need to get the 911 cleaned up. I did loose 2 pounds from all the walking and sweating. Averaging 5 miles a day. It sure was nice to sleep in our good bed and drink good coffee this morning.

Porsche-poor 06-18-2024 04:05 PM

Just got home myself. Oldest graduated and took home a masters. Next up PHD

GH85Carrera 06-19-2024 05:31 AM

I did turn 195,000 miles on the track at Barber. The man working the track at pit into the paddock stopped me and said it was really nice to see an antique air cooled car on the track. I told him I was an antique as well. ;)

Many people came over to take picture of it, and even some selfies with my car.

Morning all. Looks great Glen.

GH85Carrera 06-21-2024 04:41 AM

Today is full on back to reality day. Time to mow again! Oh boy.

Porsche-poor 06-21-2024 06:14 AM

Morning. Today I finish the pressure washing of the deck and deck rail.

GH85Carrera 06-21-2024 08:10 AM

The yard is edged and mowed! Only 3 hours of fun.

The mean boss's master gardener wife has a flowerbed, or tree with a tree ring every few feet. That means I can't really do the typical back and forth mowing pattern as there is always an obstacle to go around. And that breaks up the yard into pieces, and little zones to mow on their own.

Soon time for a shower!

Porsche-poor 06-24-2024 06:56 AM

Morning. Today makes 35 years of marriage and the end of the pressure washing.

GH85Carrera 06-24-2024 01:02 PM

Congrats on the anniversary and the end of power washing.

We took my wife's Macan for some new shoes. The old tires still had some tread, but the OEM tires had become very noisy. They were 8 years old, so time to go.

I need to double check the tire pressures, and the torque of the lug nuts, but she is happy.

GH85Carrera 06-25-2024 06:34 AM

This morning I checkd the cold tire pressure on my wife's Macan's new tires. All were a few PSI high. They are set to factory spec. The changed tires warning is back on the display. So I will have to plug in the Autel code reader and try to fix it.

I have been changing tires on my cars since the first set for my 1960 VW bug. Those were bias ply recaps and the set of four mounted and balanced, taxes and out the door price was $24 bucks. None of "my" cars have ever needed a USB2 reader too change batteries or tires. The new fangled cars all have to be reset.

Just got the oil changed in the CRV and off to get it done in the 911 later today.

We sold our house in California about 8 years ago to move to Florida. My wife got a notice today from Zillow that the house is up for sale again. The price is 71% higher than when we sold. Almost all the amenities described in the listing are improvements we made to the home. Oh well…

I know in Florida the Plumeria growing season is twice as long as here in So Cal.
That is the Leverage you lose when you cash out of expensive markets.
Our So Cal home went up 100k a year for the last 5 years.
But until we cash out it means little.

Our plumeria has not yet bloomed this year, but it is sure loving the sunshine and heat. It had lots of new dark GREEN leaves. It is happy after a winter indoors in the south kitchen window and only partial sun.
