Yep. My boss makes me do all sorts of lousy things.
|
Good afternoon all.
We went to a local breakfast restaurant this morning to get the day rolling. Then I was out mowing and edging once again. It was weird, it was in the high 70s and overcast. Almost pleasant temps except kinda humid. Got that done and we sat down to watch the F1 race. Interesting pressure but still no real passing. I really think the best thing they could do is drastically reduce the aerodynamic wings and get back to a basic slight down-force. Get back to passing when your car is faster. |
Sanding drywall sucks monkey genitalia.
|
Never tried the monkey parts sanding. I will take your expert opinion on that. I don't want to try either to test the theory.
|
Good idea, Glen. Leave it to the pro's. :(
I just finished sanding the ceiling and walls. Now I get to apply more joint compound to better blend in the joints between sheets of drywall, and to better blend in the various drywall patches where I cut in to existing drywall to route/reroute electrical and plumbing. Hopefully, final sanding is on Wednesday, and I can start painting the garage on Thursday/Friday. I'm still trying to line up a contractor to patch concrete cracks and better level out the floor. And epoxy coat it, too. Then on to cabinets! |
They make it look so easy on those DIY shows. Of course, they only show a small area, and don't show all the other people helping.
Thought if ever started doing renovation on the house or yard would learn Spanish. That way could use day laborers. |
Yea, the TV shows make it look easy. Like most TV shows on car repair, show 5 minutes of the process and then the camera cust away to a commercial and and untold amout of people work for a long time and the commercial break comes back when it is done.
If it is the typical TV car fix show you need a few arguments and yelling to make the producer happy. I have not watched much home improvement shows, I leave that for my wife. She has them on all regularly. Good Monday morning everyone. |
Morning all. They make it look easy cause the host yells cut and an extra comes in and finishes the work.
|
Hey Jim, try yelling CUT, and see if you can get the crew to finish up for you. You live out there in the land of movies stars and cement ponds, just like the Beverly Hillbillies. Maybe it will work! ;)
|
and let us know if it does. I got lots of things I want to yell cut about.
|
If I yell cut I would likely get the doc from Rocky to run in and cut me above my eye.
|
Only works if you yell it from one of them fold up chairs and it has "Director" on the back. If you are just wearing the funky hat and chewing a cigar, you get someone's eye cut.
Seems like the 'Reality" shows with hosts that are "directed" to argue end up separating. The flipping house shows with married couples, Wheeler Dealers, Fast and Loud. |
The couple on Fixer Upper get along well. He is a goofball though and she is a saint to put up with him. Even before the show. They must be well suited to each other. Of course he does goofy things and gets hurt and she laughs so making her laugh probably helps a lot.
Mornin' all. If I yelled cut the 7 year old would show up with a knife and ask "Where?". |
So you are telling me I have no hope and I just have to do the rotten jobs myself? I'm crushed.

Is Fixer Upper the one in Wacko or Cali, heard they both were having problems. Surprised the Flipping Vega couple is even married to start with. She always spends more than he budgets.
|
Kinda like the Pimp My Ride show. They always did some gimmicky thing to the car. The owner would always put the car up on fleabay at some point after the show.
Kinda wondered what they would have done to the old Range Rover and what gimmick they sould have come up with for hauling my dog around. |
