Good afternoon guys.

I am still contemplating what to serve tonight.

Rick V 03-09-2011 02:32 PM

I grilled up some smoked sausage, fried up some sourkrout and just had a cholesterol fest.

Believe it or not, most of the people the drive the new stuff really love a good example of an aircooler. Lanna always draws a crowd.

I did it! Instructor jumped out of the plane and I went for my solo!

nynor 03-09-2011 04:57 PM

good job dave. you obviously survived.

slodave 03-09-2011 05:15 PM

Thanks, D. Sure did. In the end, the landings without my instructor went just fine. I almost wanted to keep going around the pattern.

I ended up going with BBQ from a local shop.

Ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage, fries & okra. It was goooood stuff.

Lots of lip smacking and compliments on the choice of food. The board meeting went just fine. Sid was elected the car detail chairman.

Burp.

just exactly is that mushroom base made of?

nynor 03-09-2011 07:20 PM

what is it made of?

i start by growing the mushroom mycelium on rye grain. that is then introduced to a mixture of coconut coir. i have taken the liberty of mixing the coir with aspen shavings. after the mycelium has colonized the entire "cake", it is transferred to the "fruiting chamber" where conditions are provided that encourage production of mushrooms.

Porsche-poor 03-09-2011 07:22 PM

interesting.

No mushroom is picked before its time.............

These three road down with me.
Spent most of the afternoon/evening flirting with the girl on the left. Her and the girl on the right are roommates, and the one on the right was my dive partner last fall.

Morning guys,

Sid, looks like you may need a wingman for the husky friend... :D (No, I am not available...:))

Rant on:

I go a message from Zahid (london911SC). The guy I bought my M+K muffler from.
He got it back... :(
Can you Forking believe it, those retarded a$$$holes from belgian customs sent it back to the US....
After I had one of those numbnuts on the phone and asked them if it was still here and they were not going to send it back.... No, sir, of course not... WELL, why did you do it anyway, you motherforking retard.....
I'm calling them again today, so if you guys here some loud shouting and cussing, that'll be me.....

Rant off

Very decent of Zahid to notify me. He might as well have said nothing and kept his muffler. I guess this is according to true Pelicanparts spirit.
Thank you Zahid!

11:53 and I'm just getting back home a 2nd time tonight.

I tried to take advantage of our SoCal weather and ride the motorbike to work today. I had to make a bunch of short trips, but nothing I haven't done before . Home-->hospital-->office. And then at the end of the work day, office-->hospital-->AAA (to get some maps for summer trips)-->and back hom...

But I never left AAA as the bike refused to start. Low voltage on the meter I hardwired into the battery. I tried tightening the leads to the battery (they often vibrate loose), but no dice. Grrr. So I called the wife to come rescue me at rush hour. While waiting for her I pulled the battery and charged it up at home over several hours. Then back to the bike I went at 11 pm. Reinstalled the battery, left the car parked, and rode home.

I felt pretty smug about how well the bike was running...until a mile or two away from home I glanced down and noticed the voltmeter reading about 6.7 volts! WTF?! I started cruising through stop signs and red lights (little traffic at midnight), turning off the headlight, etc. I literally pulled into the driveway as the bike quit altogether. Phew.

Of course everyone's asleep, so I have no one to tell...except you nightowls.

Now I gotta figure out why the stator isn't recharging properly.

Bad alternator?
