Daughter just got her first job out of college

After 2 months of dozens of interviews, she finally landed a career.
The company is a Real Estate Dev.Company here in Orange County.
She will be a leasing consultant for large apartment complexes.
The company has been around for 40 years.
OK base pay, plus commissions, full benefits, 401K and they promote within the company. The wife and I are very happy and Natasha is on cloud 9.

The company is very conservative, she will be wearing suits and closed toe shoes, no tatoos allowed or piercing.....YES!!

That's great. It is really interesting watching your spawn go from a scruffy clueless know-it-all teen to a young adult - not that your daughter was but many were. They clean up 'real good'.

One of the happiest moments in my life was calling my folks to tell them I had finally gotten a real job offer after six mos. of starving and pounding the pavement. Back then the $17.5k salary was all the money in the world and I was also on cloud nine. Great feeling.

One of the benefits of graduating in a red-hot economy (May 2000) was that I had accepted a job offer by September of 1999.

Congrats to your daughter. I have a feeling that companies with sound, long-term strategies will be back in vogue.

My son is a rising senior, so this gives me hope for recent grads.

Congrats,

my daughter graduated UCSB two years ago, and has been with KPMG downtown LA (she was a paid intern for several summers while in college. At 23 she bought her own new 328i and a condo in Long Beach. Moved her in last weekend. She's going for an MBA at CSULB in the evenings.
