A few pics I took from this years trip. I met a fellow Pelican who visited for awhile under my wing, but can't recall his screen name.

Half way there flying up the Chicago shoreline.

Tim, I have a quick question: How did they get the Dh88 there? I saw it in the Shuttleworth Collection @ Biggleswade while in England. It is not airworthy, just in taxiable condition. Did they load it up on a huge freighter? Or has someone made a "Grosvener House" clone/replica?

There was flyable Dh88 replica built several years ago (in Flabob, CA I think it was). It's most likely the same one.

Nice, yes indeed...

Did you happen to see any of the recent finds in Russia like a Ju87 "Stuka"...I heard one was been restored to flying condition.. The Lancaster was cool too. I chased the air show circuit for years and have yet to see one.

The look and sound of the P-51 strafe is almost as good as sex..almost!

Did you see a P-61 "Black Widow" ?

Gotta love airplanes........

It is a replica. I am pretty sure it is the same one that had engine problems several years ago during Oshkosh and end up sitting in a hangar at Wood County airport in Bowling Green, Ohio for several months awaiting repairs to return home. I think it lives overseas.

Thanks Tim. That is one beautiful airplane. It was one of my favorites as a young fellow. I used to draw it over & over, in the three different color schemes. Must be a blast to see one (even a replica) fly...I really enjoyed seeing the "real deal" @ Biggleswade. Have not been to Oshkosh in many years...used to be a yearly trip when my Dad was alive and active in EAA and CAF. Thanks again.

I saw that too I was afraid to even ask about it. Looked like a radiator fan from a truck or something. My Pacer was parked out on the flightline about 100 yards due east of that POS.

I did speak with the guy who owned the tan minimax one row to the south (it was shown flying in the video) He flew it there from out west somewhere and had smoke in the cockpit from his muffler burning thru his plywood fuselage while coming east over the mountains. The ultralight area is not what it used to be probably due to the light sport category and the stupid powered parachute craze of recent years.
