8y/o girl was with the bday boy, my child was not involved. Not involvled except to witness the weirdness, she was definately not comfortable with the action.

HardDrive 08-17-2009 07:46 AM

Evidently I was playing doctor incorrectly.

emcon5 08-17-2009 07:51 AM

An 8 year old girl giving a lap dance is pretty damn disturbing. I shudder to think how/where she learned that behavior.

when i grow up i want to be like mommy....

I had a snappy smart-ass line all reading for reply, but it'd seem inappropriate now...

I strongly suspect that girl is being abused. Barbie doesn't have stripper dance tutorials. That, and abuse victims tend to turn into abusers themselves...

They're called "Bratz" dolls.

Porsche-O-Phile 08-17-2009 08:10 AM

Definitely some sort of abuse or other nastiness going on.

I would take my kid way, way far away from that entire crowd. Time for a new group of friends to hang out with. Just my $0.02.

The girl has a history of inappropriate behavior with the boy. There was an incident during a sleepover where they were found with pants off and the girl on top of the boy doing a dry run on humping.
So on the bday, the kids are playing on the swing set near the playhouse when one of the moms gets curious and go to check on the kids because she can't see the girl and boy. When she approaches the playhouse, she sees the boy standing in his underwear and the girl doing her best stripper grind on the boy. The girl has her pants down as well. Mom freaks out and yells bloody murder at the girl. Tears flow, the girl is sent home, the boy crys and it pretty much put a damper on the party.
Pelicans, is this 8 y/o girl too old to play doc or too young to play stripper? How would you react if it were your son/daughter?
Please don't ask for pics.

Ah, the memories. :)

Perfectly normal, i would not make much of a fuss over it. (Seriously if i had a dollar for every time some little girl groped me when i was a kid i would not need to work). I'm sure my position will not be popular, but shrug, i see nothing wrong with it as long as actual sex acts are not going on.

PS: It is never too late to play doctor. ;)

I'm going to agree with the above assessments but add one more data point. One of my friends back in NY was the Principal of a Catholic elementary school, in inner city Albany. She was telling me about the behavior of the little kids during an afternoon "dance". Most of the time, the 8 yr olds acted like 8 year olds. But when the dance music was on, they acted out what they were seeing on MTV: bumping and grinding, etc. 8 yrs old, and this was 1999.

There is a big difference between "nasty dancing", and doing all of this stuff with the pants pulled down. SOMETHING is seriously wrong. I expect it is not simply "watching".

+1

Some of you seem bizarrely sheltered. Do any of you even watch music videos?

They were doing this IN FRONT of other kids?

OK, yeah, that'd be disturbing.

Yup. I agree.

Flirtation, exhibtionism, playing doctor, mimicking adult behavior etc. are the most natural things in the world for kids. It's adults that turn these things into taboo by insisting they're "dirty" and "wrong".

No idea why you all have your panties in a twist about this.

bivenator 08-17-2009 10:09 AM

So Dottore, two kids, 7 and 8 yrs old have naked simulated sex in one instance and then is followed by a pants off pole dance and your panties are not in a bunch? Sure, sure the naked body is a beautiful thing and 'mericans are a bunch of prudes, but really you don't see the problem or at least a potential problem with this behavior?

Lets pray to god that doesn't happen to me. Getting beat as a child makes ya worry that you might do it yourself...

I don't, unless they were doing it in front of others.

Yup. This is beyond the usual kids playing doctor.

m21sniper 08-17-2009 10:15 AM

No offense Puppy, but you have only your own experiences to cause you to make that assertion.

It's certainly nothing that i didn't do at that age. Funny thing is that every time anything like that ever happened to me it was the girl that was the instigator.

Gogar 08-17-2009 10:16 AM

I for one, wouldn't immediately suspect abuse, but I bet that the poor little girl has a television for a babysitter, and no parental oversight of her use of the computer. Trust me, 8-year olds know how to click on links.

It's beyond what WE knew when we were little and played doctor, but think of how much more stuff little kids are exposed to these days.

I doubt these little kids knew what they were doing any more than we did as little kids; they're only mimicking what they are exposed to.

No matter what, though, it needs to be addressed with her parents (or parent). :(

Look I'm assuming these kids are not old enough to form a lurid (sexual) intent. If that's not the case then they are just mimicking something they've seen adults do either live or on TV. It's harmless role playing.

I would of course take them aside and tell them that this kind of behavior is frowned upon by adults, and won't get them any extra ice cream. But it's still just role playing.

I mean how upset do you get when your 8 year old mows down all his friends with his plastic machine gun?
