how old is too old to play Dr.

My 6 y/o went to a bday party with approx 5 other kids. The bday boy is turning 7 and an 8 y/o girl who he has grown up with was there as well. The girl has a history of inappropriate behavior with the boy. There was an incident during a sleepover where they were found with pants off and the girl on top of the boy doing a dry run on humping.
So on the bday, the kids are playing on the swing set near the playhouse when one of the moms gets curious and go to check on the kids because she can't see the girl and boy. When she approaches the playhouse, she sees the boy standing in his underwear and the girl doing her best stripper grind on the boy. The girl has her pants down as well. Mom freaks out and yells bloody murder at the girl. Tears flow, the girl is sent home, the boy crys and it pretty much put a damper on the party.
Pelicans, is this 8 y/o girl too old to play doc or too young to play stripper? How would you react if it were your son/daughter?
Please don't ask for pics.

Thats not playing doctor... Seems a little young for behavior that slutty IMHO. Her parents better buckle down for a wild ride. I see this girl pregnant before 16

I had a snappy smart-ass line all reading for reply, but it'd seem inappropriate now...

I strongly suspect that girl is being abused. Barbie doesn't have stripper dance tutorials. That, and abuse victims tend to turn into abusers themselves...

She has an 18 y/o brother and a father that is in and out a relationship with the the mom. The brother is, according to my wife, a loving and attentive brother that all the children love. I told her taht under no circumstance will our child be left alone with him. Those are usually the abusers, the ones that can gain the trust of children.

Agreed that is not playing doctor behavior. That is acting out what she has seen from others.

Perhaps she has not been abused but has witnessed the way big bro and his g/fs act?

Have you noticed any other odd behavior in the girl? Maybe not wanting to be around a certain family member, hesitance to leave a party, clinging to other adults, etc... If this girl is being abused she has got to be crying out for help if you watch her actions.

Not all victims behave that way. Often times they will cling to their abuser if they feel that is the only person who brings stability to their life. Ask any cop what their least favorite thing to do is, and many will say it is to respond to domestic abuse calls. Why? Because more often than not, the victim will turn on the cop when he tries to take the abuser away.

The psychology of these situations can be complicated and the way a normal person from a non-abusive household would behave doesn't usually apply well. The little girl may have been taught that there is nothing wrong with this kind of behavior--she may be under the impression that nothing is wrong.

My wife reports the 8y/o girl and 18 y/o brother are very close. The girl, according to wife, was acting like a socio-path the entire party. Being told not to open the kids presents to bullying other children who were engaging the bday boy in conversation.
I was not there to witness as I was moving my oldest into her first apartment in college. One in kindergarten and one in college. Oh shoot me now.

I think a call to CPS is in order.

Someone needs to look into what's going on there.

This is not normal.

I'm slightly confused, was the girl alone with the birthday boy or with your 6-year old? (Which I'm not sure is a boy or a girl.)

If it was your 6-year old, I'd call CPS. You at least have some standing then.

How much you want to bet that the family has no restrictions on media. Little girls don't naturally strip. That behavior has to be learned from somewhere... evening TV or R rated movies.

The problems there go MUCH deeper than TV.

Children learn from the parents. Abuse is a possibility??? Low self esteem definitely....imitation of what see sees at home..probably. I feel sorry for the little girl, it takes two to tango.

Somebody should take the bull by the horns and drop the dime...this situation does need some examination???? Adults should not just look away and pretend they don't see it. I don't just say this lightly. It is a difficult situation to assess. Responsibility for childrens welfare is all of our responsibility and not just the governments to take care of.

This sometimes is the part the conservatives miss, they need to realize that they will have to take responsibiltty and devote time and effort from their busy day. They will not just get to sit in front of the tube and think well someone else will take care of it.
