Wow, weird world, I used to work with this guy

http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou090818_tnt_sugar-land-bank-robbery.f1546d98.html

Quote:
SUGAR LAND, Texas— A Sugar Land police officer shot and killed a bank robbery suspect on Highway 59 Tuesday morning. The southbound lanes were blocked at the Brazos River bridge for several hours while investigators collected evidence.

Sugar Land police said the armed suspect robbed a Wachovia Bank in the 17000 block of Lexington around 9 a.m.
When I worked with him he was a nice enough guy to talk to as a co-worker, but he was a lot like the main character in "Falling Down". I always watched him expecting him to go postal.

I saw him about 2 years ago at a reunion for the folks that had all worked together. He seemed ok, but said that he'd had a string of short contract jobs and was having a problem finding work or long term work. He was painting houses since he couldn't find work. I wasn't surprised once I figured out who he was.

Apparently, he'd be diagnosed with a psych issue and was refusing to take his meds. It's a shame, but at least he didn't take anyone else with him.

Sorry to hear.

He pulled a gun on the cop.

Maybe suicide by cop?

I wondered the same thing.

There was a guy that walked into a San Diego McDonalds and shot a bunch of people about 25 years ago.

It happened about 10 days before my younger brother and I did a tour around California, looking at colleges. There were four of us, as a few of his friends came along, rolling in 5 year old 733i. Hit all the UC schools, ended up in San Diego, to visit my friend Bruce, who was a little older. He was an underwater welder, and he had moved down there due to a lucrative job offer. We got to talking about the thing at McDonald's, apparently the guy had come in to try and get a job, but they were not hiring, Bruce told him so. Next day he shot all those people.

A guy I once worked with is now on Death Row in Florida for murdering his wife. These are words I never thought I would say when I began my career.

If it's of any interest just Google "Justin Barber Florida".

I used to work with the "Houston West Side Rapist" of the early 80's. I'd known the guy since I bought a Schwinn Scrambler from him as a kid. Then I started working with him as a bike mechanic. Luckily he didn't kill the woman that pulled off his mask and was able to describe him to police. Part of his M.O.: he rode off on a bicycle! This was almost 20 years ago, but I haven't been able to find anything about him on the web.

I met a woman at church that had dated the BTK serial killer in college. Talk about creepy.....
