Self Defense Tip

Subject: FW: Better than Pepper Spray

No longer do you need to keep your .45 or AK-47 sitting out on the coffee table...a can of wasp spray will do!

Never would have thought it ! Good thought..... Wasp Spray

I have a friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area who was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray they have to get too close to you and could overpower you.
The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote.

She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for protection.

You could also keep it in your car and it would not be illegal.

Thought this was interesting and might be of use...

It's a lot cheaper buying wasp spray than paying a hospital bill after being mugged...

Ya know, since I took my assault rifle, a mini-14, 1,000 rounds of ammo, and the three Semi automatic hand guns and another 300 rounds of ammo, out of my trunk, and put ONE can of WASP spray in, I'm getting better gas mileage...

I wonder if the gangbangers know about this?????

I'll stick with my S&W J frame thanks.

In California using that against an attacker would probably land you in jail for attempted murder or you'd get sued for a gaszillion dollars for pain and suffering.

Anywhere else they'd give you a medal.

I'm pretty sure using a household chemical for anything other than its intended use is a crime, probably a felony in CA, with a mandatory minimum if used for self-defense, again, only in CA.

You need an antidote to be able to see again after getting hosed with Wasp spray?

We need a test subject. Any volunteers? Dipso? :D

I got a good high pressure blast of gasoline directly into my eyes a while back. Believe me, that will take anyone out of commission for a good hour.

Used to be a potential victim could defend themselves with whatever is handy. Whatever it was didn't have to be pre-approved for self-defense.

If I were out in the garage and someone came in through the open door to rob or attack me, would I blast him in the face with brake cleaner? Bet your ass I would. I'd probably even light him on fire afterwards...

We make some killer bug spray - I swear it could be used as a chemical weapon!

Funny project, years ago a guy in R&D had the idea of filling paint ball capsules with a highly concentrated insecticide, using a CO2 powered paintball gun and using it to blast wasp nests.

They spent a lot of time and effort on a project that seemed cool but had its draw backs:
1) The balls actually shot through the nest which just pissed off the wasps
2) The EPA and ATF would not allow the 'gun' to look like a gun so it was design to look like anything but...which meant it was very uncomfortable to use and lacked accuracy.
3) Although many people thought it was cool no one wanted to spend a few hundred bucks on such a device.

The project was a flop.

The up-side, I have one in my garage that I scored for free along with a bag of highly concentrated insecticide. I have yet to use it but R&D has assured me it will work on Zombies as well as yellow jackets and wasps!

Paint balls full of hydrocloric acid would be mucho cool.

PS: After reading the Snopes article, remind me never to move to Michigan, as they ban anything stronger than 2% pepper spray. WTF, over, why do some jurisdictions hate their citizenry?

Kick in the nuts first, then light him on fire.

Maybe I'll keep a Supersoaker filled with chlorine bleach or muriatic acid in the garage.

LOL. This post smelled of a "Snopes" moment. It's amazing how these e-mails continue to make the rounds (and even more amazing that people keep posting them).

Screw the wasp spray or standard "O.C."...I keep a can of this at my shop and one in my truck:

dude, that's over the top...

Now if we were talking sharks, ok... but laser wasps.. no,
10 000 lasers is just asking for trouble. And not energy efficient.
