Please Identify These Spiders.

One's dead, one's unaccounted for. What were they? They were just too close to where I sleep.

if they are i suggest you not fall asleep till you find the other.

Nah, out of character for a Brown Recluse, and I'm a little too far north.

you're not too far north...but that's not a brown recluse. we used to have them (aka Violin Spiders in my barn). i know a diabetic that had to get his leg amputated after being bit by one. (I grew up in northern indiana)

If you had killed them and then taken pictures this wouldn't be a problem.

The banded one looks almost like a banana spider, but I'm not sure about them being that far north. The other looks like one of the billion varieties of wolf spider, not dangerous and not going to bother you.

these look like the ones in my garage, have at least 2 of them, and they are BIG. leg span is over 1.5 inches. they don't bother me so I haven't killed them, but they are a little scary...would not want one jumping on me.

the first single picture looks like an orb spider of some kind. the other MIGHT be a hobo spider, which are poisonous, but not very aggressive.

wolf spiders are much heavier bodied. close relatives to the tarantula.

I think those are 2 different spiders. The one in the web(second photo), we have those all over our house. Seem to do a good job of catching the fruit flies, so I feel bad when cleaning day comes and we clean up the webs.

I think the one on the door jam is a Venezuelan Penis Muncher (Veneznulius Peckmunchorium). I won't tell you how they got that name.

All Spiders are poisonous, most are harmless to humans, unless you live in Australia.

I have two spiders in the back yard that hang out by my storage building. I have to knock down part of a web every morning to get to the gate. They eat the bugs that bug me.

I am quite afraid of large spiders, but the ones you photographed are gorgeous! The detail on their legs and bodies was outstanding!

Since we're on the topic, I took this pic tonight after reading this thread and rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd keep it on-topic and add my picture to the list.

This guy builds a web every night under our floodlights in the corner of our screen porch. I never dreamed I'd be able to actually get a picture close enough to identify him and see him properly...till I pulled out my 70-300mm lens!

Yes, but once you stomp, they become much harder to I.D.
