Rifle ammo prices improving, Pistol ammo still very expensive

The rifle ammo supply and surplus market seems to be opening up again, and the prices are improving. Pistol ammo is still 2-3 times what it was 2 years ago.

Good news. Glad that the Yobama administration has given up on scrapping and selling all the military surplus brass to China and its now available again to reloaders here in CONUS. This has to help free up things a bunch.

I bought 300 rounds of 9mm FMJ yesterday at Wally World for $57. They had another 700 or so rounds still when I left. They also had a few hundred rounds of .40S&W. I've also seen some .44 Mag. A week ago they had a few boxes of .357sig. The only thing that they seem to have with any regularity is 9mm.

Steve, that is double what I used to pay at walley world. It used to be $4.77 for a box of 50.

22LR ammo and handgun ammo is almost non existent in my area. Rifle ammo is pricey, but more available than the others. Primers for handloading are still scarce.

My local Wally World has got lots of .22, rifle, and shotgun. They are just limited on handgun ammo.

I'm just happy that I've got a 9mm so I can actually get ammo and the price isn't too ridiculous.

You can get it, but it really has gotten stupid expensive. Too expensive to go shoot, so I'm just hoarding it and building up my stores. I figure it'll all be needed before too long, the way things are going...

I need some .308 for range time. I'm thinking Silver Bear.
