I've found that those that think they're smooth aren't, and those that really try to be smooth can't.

Just be yourself. Spend your time finding out who *that* person is and the right women will come into your life (pun intended).

+1 Once you realize that if this one fails, there are plenty more out there willing to be your next success or failure, you won't be as nervous. As someone else said earlier, pratcice, practice, practice. Wost thing that can happen is you move onto the next. Best thing that can happen is you get laid and you can start comparing notes with Sniper

Your going to need to do some experimentation to find your groove. Being in a serious relationship early on has delayed your smooth factor. The positive thing is you know what chicks are capable of, that will save your skin latter on.

Girls are were you find them, like driving practial experience is the only way to learn. Make small changes until you fall in to the groove.

You can't rush this process.

How was this. Walked up before history and was waiting for class to start. Had my iPhone out checking email and stuff and just started chatting with this girl about the upcoming quiz and stuff. Nothing major. Made eye contact a few times but mostly just minded my own. I noticed her looking over her shoulder at me multiple times in class and then again as we were walking out.
