Musical collaboration - your thoughts please?

I moved a friend in with me a couple weeks ago. Both of us are musical people. Although i work in the industry, he's much more of a musician that I am. I dabble, but he's doing a lot more. A metal guitarist by trade, he's moved on to orchestral stuff and some serious composition.
He grabbed onto a small melody piece I had been toying with on my keyboard and ran with it. My original melody was in a higher octave...he shifted it down and wrote the cello piece for it.

I'd like to know what you guys think of our collaboration. Visually, what does it evoke for you?

Long Dark Night of the Soul

This is a first draft...

I am humbled. That is an excellent piece. Makes me want to delete certain fluffer blues threads on this forum.

I would love working with this. For example, about two thirds into the song, adding base and drums, perhaps some kind of flute or even an electric guitar. Or just keep it as it is.

Great stuff!

Most cool...it's kind of a melancholy piece...could be used as a backround for a rainy day.

Since were talking music, here is a link to my band...SPEECHLESS.

SPEECHLESS on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

On the Myspace page you can listen to our stuff....that song Stella, it won an award for Best Instrumental Song by an unsigned band by the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame.

Currently working on our second CD. So Wolfe, wanna help us get our foot in the door to get someone interested in SPEECHLESS's stuff?

Hey livi, I thought a "base" was what ships docked at or a baseball player steps on....but a BASS, that's what I play ;-)
