I agree these are cool. But I wouldn't do that. You lose an average replacement part in Modoc County on a hunting trip, you will be grounded. If you are in a Ford diesel or anything else that's common, you can keep hunting in half a day or less.

My choice for imported diesel 4x4 would be the Mercedes Gelaendewagen. Only available in luxury version with a V8 in the US.

Yes!

I used to drive by one with the school bus every day. Same color. I am not sure about their performance, but the looks are just killer. If they had them here, I would own one to see how I like it. (I have owned quite a few of my "must own" cars, just to get it out of the system.)

With Fiat coming back I always liked anytihng exotic Italian of French when younger. I'd also love TVR to import.

This is my alltime faviortie non import. I've seen a few on The streets of Italy last time there:

I think the TVRs aren't either.
TVR's are pretty cool, I saw some Prodrive thing with a Subie drivetrain that looked fun, made Jeremy pitch his cookies driving circles. There were a lot of Lotus and Lancia vehicles they never sold here that I would covet.

Yes. I'd probably sell my current car and a kidney for it. Practical, and with that engine. Have any of you driven the 135? Brilliant car.

Cadillac CTS turbo diesel. That's right: a massively-torqued diesel that can pull the headlights out of a BMW M5 while getting twice the fuel mileage. But GM will only let Europeans have it. And the god damned thing is built in N. America.

Way to go, Government Motors.

Now, I'm not all into the autoblogs, so it's possible that these are actually going to be imported, but I doubt it:
Mercedes A class. Saw one in Hamburg, and forever thought that they would sell like hotcakes to young urbanites in the big cities:

And, the new SLS AMG gullwing:

Again, I'm *presuming* that it never makes it over here.

+1 on the 1 series 3 and 5 door hatchbacks. And I want the 120d, 150-160hp, 6 speed diesel, 50+mpg. I drove one of these in Spain for a week in the summer of 2007. Great little car.

I think Sun International is out of business now. At least their website hasn't seemed to change in the last three or four years.
