25 High School Reunion, I Must be getting old...

Yep, I'm going to take some of the weekend off and go laugh at everyone who is bald.... I wasn't really close to too many there, I was racing all the time, so other than my surfing & skating buddies, I didn't hang out with too many peopl, of course, me living right across the street from the school, alone my senior year & having a pool, lots of people liked to hang out with me...

I did go to the 10, can anyone find me?? It wasn't too bad..

This year, well, lets see what everyone looks like...

Class of 84!

Thanks for the notice!

Went to my 10th. the sluts where still slutty the football players best years of their lives was in high school. the athletic crowd that played other sports where successful. and the blonde's where now brunettes.

Tried to get my wife to go to her 20th, but with her MS she didn't want to go in a wheelchair ( she can walk, but not more than 100 yards or so.)

She danced and was a cheerleader. it kills her that she can't move well at age 44.

my 30th was this past summer. I haven't gone to any of them. Not really anyone I feel the need to see or try to impress. I've only kept in contact with one person over the years (from a school of about 4K students). Maybe I'm just antisocial...

I moved around, went to two different high schools, so never really felt attached to them. Have no idea where anyone from HS is and don't care.

Go, Byron. You'll have a great time. Take two of your exotic dancer friends.

There are about 3 people out of 1300 I went to high school with that I talk with on a monthly basis or so. That's it.

I had many friends in high school, but I left that all behind quickly.

I was going to write a reply to this post, but it has already been written. See above quote. I would have said the exact same thing!

As an aside, when it came time for our 5th or 10th - I don't remember or care much - I was accosted by the Class President whom I never liked and he was telling me how great it was going to be, blah, blah, blah. The idiots on the planning committee decided to hold it in some overpriced hotel where the tickets would be $125 a head! I looked him in the eye and said, "Why in hell would I want to pay to attend an event with people whom I couldn't stand going to school with for free."
He was dumbfounded.
Needless to say I've Never received an invitation for any of the grand events.
And for that I am most grateful.
Oh, there is one reason I would have gone to the 5th or 10th, whatever. There was this one girl who was a killer to look at. She was built way beyond her years. I heard she had had a boob reduction, so that killed it for me! I just didn't care anymore.
Been 30-years this year, and if I want to have a reunion with my "friends" from school I call up my buddy John, head up to his mountain-top home, listen to his children play fine music on guitars, dulcimers, upright bass, etc. and sip on his homemade wine or mead or some such brew. We sit and talk and solve the world's problems while getting slightly high on the grape... and talk about all the people we're glad we missed at the latest reunion!

My pop rolled from Dallas to Memphis for the weekend to celebrate his 50th HS reunion. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

30th was this year. I didn't go. I went to my 10th for a little while and the people were still the same..only older...

I have no need to relive the past, or my "glory days". Life marches on.

Missed my 25th this year as it happened during Oshkosh. I would have liked to have gone just for the fun of seeing how much some have changed. I like Byron, was not too involved with school activities.... most of my free time during highschool was spent riding/wrenching on BMX bikes, dirt bikes and VW beetles.

I graduated with 18. Doesn't mean I liked the people. Been in the same school with most of them for 12yrs.

It is surprising who turns out to be an even keeled and thoughtful adult.

Otherwise, I found out most people (my friends and those who were not my friends) turned out to be better people than they were back in high school.

The reunions I have gone do have been positive experiences.

My 40th is coming up. Have made several of them and was well worth the trip.

Sad part is that many of the "movers and shakers" in the class have done absolutely nothing with their lives and are still stuck in a small podunk town in the mid-west. They look at me and many have said "wish I could have done as well as you have" when in fact they could have done many times better had they only gotten off of their a$$ and applied themselves.

Still was a lot of fun... and will be going to the next one.
