Anyone remember race driver Donna Mae Mims?

She'd no doubt kick my butt on the track.

My dad actually knew her pretty well, He is real active in the local car club scene, and they have worked together organizing events . She was definately an interesting person. My dad attended the funeral the other day, and she was laid out in her pink corvette. I had met her a handful of times , super friendly person. From what I understand, she rolled a cadillac at over 100 mph, during one of the early cannonball runs. She will be missed

When watching that video, I was really, really hoping they'd give us a brief, creepy look at her sitting in that 'Vette.

Anyone else?

Also, you do get to see her left hand... and it's not at 10 o'clock... so we know the mortician doesn't know anything about high performance driving.

She lived about 10 minutes from my office. I would see her at the bank on occasion--she was hard to miss, the 79 pink 'vette with the Marilyn Monroe aribrushed mural on the hood was her daily driver and she had cotton-candy white/blonde hair.

The caddy was a 62? limo that her co-driver rolled during the Cannonball.

Be one hell of a large grave to fit a Vette in there.

Too many enviromental issues associated with being buried in a car.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Donna Mae at the BARC reunion luncheon at Watkins Glen last year. Awesome, "what you see is what you get" kind of lady. She rocked.

That is the car. I cant find the last picture I have of her at The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. She has worked the grid at the Beaverun event the last few years.

Saw her years ago at a couple of Corvair events. She had worked for Don Yenko and campaigned a Yenko Stinger. She was well-respected by her peers. Great personality. She will be missed. R.I.P. Miss "Think Pink".
