Thumbs up Porsches & Harley Davidsons

Pelicans
Have you ever noticed how many of us have Porsches & Harley Davidsons?
Is that a characteristic of us or what?

I'd never buy a Harley, to be honest. That's just me though.

The trend is "air cooled" BMWs, Ducatis, and Harleys. Oh yeah, and Triumphs, and Honda CBs.

Wouldn't be caught dead on a Harley.

Personally I don't know of any 911 drivers that have a Harley.

That's probably because you're not into Harleys. Happens that when one have some kind of vehicle, not just Harleys but any, one becomes more aware of others with the same kind. One sees them almost everywhere.

How about Porsches, Harleys, and Ducatis? I own and enjoy a 911, a Sportster, a Road King, and a 900 Super Sport. I regularly ride or drive all of them, and enjoy each of them for different reasons.

I do see a stronger connection between Porsche and Ducati than between Porsche and Harley ownership. I also see a lot of crossover between Ducati and Harley, especially in my age group. Ducati actually noticed the same thing in their market reseach a couple of years ago. As a result, they approached Harley with a merger proposal. They thought the two brands could complement one another in non-competing markets. Harley, in the end, went with a different Italian bike company - perhaps Ducati was a bit too close to the Buell market. None the less, the affinity between Harley ownership and Ducati ownership is strong. They complement one another quite nicely. On the one hand, I could not think of a more suitable sport bike. On the other, I can't imagine a better touring bike. It's a great match.

I love my Harley. Not a huge fan of most other Harley's but the Night Train is an exception for me.

I don't think there is much dual ownership with Harley and Porsche.

Now Harley and Corvette, I'm sure there are a ton of people who own both. Those two go hand in hand.

I bet there are even more who own a Harley and a pick-up.
