lap dogs in cars need to be outlawed

We've banned using cell phones while driving. Why don't we outlaw having a freakin' dog on your lap while driving?

I've seen more people lately doing this. I thought there was a law about distracted driving. Would this NOT qualify or be even worse than texting or talking on the phone, in some cases. It seems to be older folks I have witnessed.

idiots

I think we have too many laws already. The last thing we need is any more.

True, I see dumb folks everyday driving with their stupid dog in their lap, looking out the window, just stupid. You can't have a pet in the back of a pick up without tying them down, why are they allowed to jump around in a moving car?

Garage
I've seen quite a few folks w/ dogs that I wouldn't consider lap dogs, poking their heads out the driver's window. We're talking lab, boxer, pointer type dogs. WTF???!?!?

Yep, our laws prevent Darwin from doing too much of his good work already.

My 80 year-old mother drives her Lexus with her Yorkshire on her lap while chatting on her cellphone, listening to right-wing talk shows, sipping her "skinny latte" and cursing all the arsehole drivers on the road.

It's called multi-tasking.

we should ban the radio too. only when in park. and the driver should be separated from the other passenger, like in airplanes. And seriously, why do manual cars still exist? shifting can be distracting...

Just wait until an accident. If the impact doesn't get Fido, the airbag will. Darwin eventually catches up with you.

Agreed. The airbag will drive the dog into (and possibly inside) the driver. Two birds, one stone.

How about we worry about ourselves instead of trying to tell everyone else what to do?

Well, I sorta agree with you, but...what happens when the geezer with her yappy lap-dog loses control (because of the lap dog) and runs YOU over?

Nah. The driver should be put down along with their dog, before having the opportunity to run me down in my prime.

Sure, Darwin might take them out, but the down side is that if he does, they're likely to take a few of us with them.

I have long advocated summary execution for very specific offenses. Double parking on through streets during rush hour is one of them. Anyone who drives a car with a stupid fluffy yap yap dog on her lap needs to be eliminated from society quickly and painlessly.

A truly just society would require the citizen's militia to be vigilant in identifying and eliminating such drivers. People who slow down when merging onto the interstate, drivers who turn left from the right lane - all of these people need to be eliminated from the gene pool, and if too old to propogate, must be removed from society for all of our protection.

Every new law signed into effect, there should be two old ones eliminated.

That said, if it does not come up to my knee, its not a dog, its a football! Game on!~
