New addition to the family (dog content)
Hello everyone. Me and my wife just rescued a 5 year old Weim. while we were in South Carolina last week visiting the in-laws. Her name is Haley and she is a sweetheart. We already have a 4 1/2 year old we've had since a puppy. They get along well after laying down the ground rules for each other. They are absolutely wonderful dogs. I also got an added bonus when we went to pick her up. We met at a breeder who is also part of the rescue program. Turns out the husband is quite a car guy. He had a 1983 911 targa in the past and currently has a 1962 (I believe) Morgan plus 4. Great car and a great guy.

Great dogs...we had one when I was a child. Which one hit the puppy lottery finding the new family?

My mom and dad have a weimeraner (sp) they got as a pup. He was pretty hyper-active as a pup but has calmed down some. He is all legs too, and that dog can flat out fly. He has turned into a great pet for them, and is my second favorite dog behind mine of course...

Dueller, the one I am holding is the new addition. She is actually bigger by about 10 lbs than our other boy and has blue eyes. Aside from that it can pretty tough to tell them apart Regarding the energy, they have plenty that's for sure. Fortunately my wife is a runner and takes them (both now ) about 5 miles a day/ 4 days a week. It keeps them pretty calm. I think they would be bouncing off the walls without it.

B!tchin...Seriously tho, one of the girls I work with has one and has had it since it was a pup. It has seperation anxiety and has eaten 2 very expensive couches, destroyed 3 car interiors (chewed the door panels right off), and ripped apart the steps in their garage.
I think they have an extreme case and are too lazy to give the dog the exercise and routine it needs. We have a ~10 year old mutt (also a rescue dog) - Husky / Rottweiller / Pit Bull cross and she is the most loving dog we've ever met but we're biased.

A lot of them do suffer from seperation anxiety. When our 1st was a puppy we also had an older Corgie who kept him company. I think she is one the main reasons he never destroyed anything. This is our first rescue and so far its been a great experience. As far as being biased-aren't we all just a little bit.
