I finally have internet again

Well after several weeks of no internet (intermitent) I finally have Hughs net which happens to be the only one I can get out here. Nice to be back and attached is the pic of the new house and the porsche. I had no idea how hard it would be to not have internet for that long. anyhow nice to be back

You might look into fixed wireless if you did not already.

Usually faster, cheaper and more reliable.

Here is the quick of the deal.

We were all set with AT&T for DSL as that was all that could service us. then we move in. that day we realize that AT&T gave us the old people's number. so we get that corrected. Then we ask is our internet ready to go? umm NO as you are to far from the loop? Well what happen to we can take care of you in the bundle etc? Sorry can;t help.

Soooo long search for something that can take care of 3 computers etc. Finally either the air card or hughes net. I chose hughs net simply cause I know to little about the air cards. hughes net is 59 bucks a month but I will be working on the local company;s to run cable back to me though the quote I heard was 60g's.

Oh and we are West of burlington now where as before we were south east if anyone cares,

Air cards are great. I use one daily. If you have cell, you have air service. It will still be about $50.00 a month but you can use it anywhere. Is Hughs net unlimited?
Again, beautiful place!!

Main issue w/ aircard is bandwidth limits. My Verizon card allows 5GB/month before hefty per MB charges start. There may be other plans w/ higher limits. Speed is about DSL level, 700-7000MB/s.

Beautiful place! Mowing can be therapeutic, at least for a few years

I have both Hughes and a wireless card, which my company pays for.

Hughes does not have unlimited usage and slows to a crawl if you exceed your "fair usage" allowance (it is a daily allowance and is reset everynight....I updated to the small business plan to avoid the slowdown. I do like the service and it feeds the house wireless network.

For business I use the wireless card and, frankly, couldn't live without it.

Hey Ben, glad to see your back. A question I posed a while back about twin pipes exiting out the middle like a newer Cup car off SSI's, I found a pic of a similar look (though these pipes look too small). Would this be something you could do or should I stick to the two straight out look standard to the longnose rear bumper?

Thanks.

I have done them with 2.5 inch tail pipes..

Also Mike the garage sucks it is a 3 stall but I have the Burb, nissan and the porsche along with a bunch of other things. I just bought a skid steer and will be building a big polebarn in spring if not sooner to house the boats, cars, campers, kids stuff, tractors and the business. currently We rent a place for that(business) but I will put it all on site.

I am excitied about all the space and for some reason excited about the skid steer it is a mid 80's Gehl skid steer with a perkins 42HP diesel.
