And how do you suggest getting around the ticket when a police car stops you for covering up the license plate? Cops just love that...

When we were in England in February we saw some that had obviously been firebombed (and they have them in "somewhat armored" enclosures)!

Yea I was talking more about the camera lenses. So I've been told. For informational purposes only. Not that I'd ever advocate such a thing personally.

The Cops in Montgomery County Maryland have been photographed giving them the finger as they're now getting the tickets. Naturally the police union is up in arms about this as the cops feel they should have "diplomatic immunity".

If anyone thinks they're there for safety's sake you're a moron. The expected revenue is included in municipal budgets now. Our politicians want you to speed and run lights.

I have no comment other than to say these cameras are not as robust as they appear to be...

Paintballs are simply gelatin capsules filled with food coloring and fish oil--they will wash off very quickly.

When paintball was first invented the equipment was originally designed for use in marking trees or cattle. Try to find a ranch or forestry catalogue, you might be able to find some enamel shell/paint-filled paintballs. Make sure they are .68--most commercially available paintball guns are that size, but there is the odd .62...

Could "retire" them like they do in the UK. Toss a tire over the installation. Toss 1/2 gallon of Gas. Light gas. Drive away.

I wonder if some of the same techniques could be used on red light cameras? I hate those things as much as the concept of photo radar (which I haven't actually seen yet). Seems like there's actual legal grounds for battling this -- isn't there something in the Constitution about confronting your accuser? If you just get mailed a ticket, how do they get around that bit?
