One of the things I like about America.
3 kids and a TV crew can run a rocket-sled into a car at 500 MPH to test a stupid myth that a snowplow can cut a car in two.
There is not another country on earth (I don't think) with the kind of military-industrial capability mixed with the sense of humor and the need to feed the entertainment beast and sell soap to the masses. Mythbusters. Not usually very entertaining, but today, very interesting.

Come on. Mythbusters is always good. There's even a myth where they use a 911 C4 Cab...

I think Mythbusters has become a little lazy lately. I was watching one where they were testing a movie myth about shooting around corners in buildings, so they just borrowed a law enforcement gun that has a video camera and swivels around corners to shoot....then they said...."yes, you can shoot around corners...." I was a little underwhelmed to say the least.

Ultimately, no matter the myth, they strap rockets to something. You really can't go wrong.

Mythbusters is just about the only television I enjoy. My kids love it as well.

I loved the slow motion shots of the "plow" cutting the car in half. I love Mythbusters. Dirty Jobs is my other favorite show.

The castoffs from the cold war put to use to sell razor blades! I mean, the footage they shot was just like the pictures we used to see in science class in high school. Damn.

It took them a long time to build up to this. (The show started in 2001.)
I remember in an early episode they were trying to source a JATO for a myth, and there is footage of one of their researchers on the phone getting laughed at and hung up on, repeatedly. Now that the show is established, they have access to some pretty nice facilities for testing firearms, explosions, cannons, crashes, and so on.

As an aside, there is always some "soft" selling on math and science in Mythbusters. You really need to apply some thought processes before you try anything. THEN blow it up - LOL! angela

Mike Rowe pissed me off... He went out and built Monopole(billboard) structures one day and declared that a dirty job... Nothing dirty about it... No harder than constructing a large building.... Now some of the stuff we get into taking down or repairing Hi-Rise signs applies....

Mike is streching a bit - like the glass paper weights episode. I guess after doing it for a few years there really is onlt so many dirty jobs. Things start tailing off.
Kari is my fav TV lady of all time. Any women who laughs pretty much all the time, knows her way around a shop, digs shooting and blowing stuff up, has red hair, a great body and a pretty face pretty much is tops in my book.
