OK. Fess up. Who ordered the

Bongs? LOS ANGELES — Customs officials say they got a surprise when they found 316,000 glass bongs disguised as Christmas ornaments at the Los Angeles harbor. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Thursday that agents found the highly decorated drug pipes in 860 boxes shipped from China. The cargo, estimated to be worth more than $2.6 million, had been described as glass figures and Christmas ornaments. The bongs were seized Tuesday at the Los Angeles/Long Beach port complex. Customs spokeswoman Cristina Gamez says the importer remains under investigation and there have been no arrests.

Ask Tommy Chong. He spent 9 months in jail because he lent his name to selling them online.

And while they are concentrating on this, what really dangerous and illegal items are slipping through?

Oh it will be a sad Christmas for all. This is like the Grinch stealing Christmas ALL over again, damnit!! Won't somebody please think of little Cindy-Loo Toker!! "And NOW!" grinned the Grinch, "I will light up the tree!" And the Grinch grabbed the tree, and he started to smoke When he heard a small sound like the coo of a dove. He turned around fast, and he saw a small toker! Little Cindy-Lou Toker, who was not more than two. The Grinch had been caught by this little Toker daughter Who'd got out of bed for a cup of cold water. She stared at the Grinch and said, "Santy Claus, why, "Why are you taking our Christmas high? WHY?" But, you know, that old Grinch was so smart and so slick He thought up a lie, and he thought it up quick! "Why, my sweet little toke," the fake Santy Claus lied, "There's a stem on this tree that won't light on one side. "So I'm taking it home to my workshop, my dear. "I'll roll it up there. Then we'll smoke it back here." | ||

i think the problem is that they weren't listed as bongs but as x-mas ornaments.....hence trying to deceive customs......anything deliberately listed wrong really rubs customs the wrong way........ tommy chongs problem was that he was sending them over state lines and there was some specific federal law which was broken and he was "made an example of".....

So now we're arresting people and seizing blown glass based on its shape? And what it could be used for? What about water pipes? They "could" be used for other than tobacco.

try going into a smoke shop and calling it a 'bong' you will be quickly corrected that it's a 'water pipe'
