Nice to hear from you Rob! I'd be very interested to hear any of your ideas; your other advice has served me well. My new career is awesome, thanks. I keep expecting things to slow down, but so far it has been steady. Got a nice wave in oct-nov, now the pressure is off for a while. I can focus on building a solid spring business.

You in SJ anytime soon??

Happy HoHo back at ya Due!

Jake, was planning a trip to SJ for Christmas and daughter changed the plans, so nope. My wife and I have purposely built a "kid magnet" for a lifestyle so they always want to come here, ha. ha. Suits my wife fine, but we do love the Province there and I'm sure we'll be visiting soon. I'll definitely look you up when it happens.

I'll dig out your email address and send you some dribble and hopefully it'll help you out? Got some exciting stuff that's been working really well for me

Thanks for the promo too there Sid! Website hits always help please the clients.
Talk at ya soon guys,
Cheers

Rob its funny you say that. If you had asked me 5 years ago how much time I thought I would spend with my parents in once I got out of college, I probably would have guessed something like maybe one weekend a month. Now that we have our lakehouse, I've spent every weekend of the summer with them for the last three years, and I see no reason why I won't continue to do so for pretty much the rest of their lives (unless a job takes me away from the Chicagoland area).

Here's a pic of all of us from the summer...

Mom

Dad

Me

And the view...

Hey Garrett, that's awesome!
Yeah, we can't keep the kids away, ha, ha.

We love it so much we've decided to set up a winter magnet next; ski chalet with a half dozen bedrooms Prices have dropped and its time to buy!

Great pics there buddy, love your place!

Thanks Rob. That's awesome, we have a very small ski hill about 15 mins away from our place. Once I can start contributing some funds, we are going to pick up some snowmobiles so that we use it more in the winter time.

The house is finally coming around. We finally finished painting all of the walls and got some new flooring in place. New kitchen cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms are hopefully on deck in the next year or two. We need to decorate a little bit as well, as the walls are still a little bare, but it looks a hell of a lot better than when we moved in.

Cheers, be sure to keep us updated with news on the ski chalet and some good sledding pics.

D@mn Rob.... I like you're technique of retaining the kids. Mine are in college and while the thought of them moving out permanently is kind of nice, it would be fun to have them back around for fun weekends in the summer.... I guess I need to start thinking about buying a boat.

Hey Eric, it's going to be "Silver Star"; we've done our searching and we've played around with all the hills in our area; this is the hill we like the best for several reasons. Choices were Sun Peaks, Silver Star or Big White.

Our plan will be to make the chalet our permanent residence and use the cabin for the summers. We love the plan and my wife is busy shopping; shouldn't be too difficult to put this to bed in the next year; we can enjoy the chalet for the winter holidays/weekends until we retire.

Tim: I can't believe YOU don't have a boat! ha. Get on that buddy.

Cheers

Prices for homes at Silver Star Mountain have dropped almost in half of what they were a couple years ago and my wife and I have decided that this kind of lifestyle would best suit us for the winter months. We could ski and sled right from our door; the City of Vernon is only 15 minutes drive away, the international airport is only about 45 minutes, the hill is excellent and the village is above average.

Not sure if the MLS links work?
Here is a very good sample of what we're looking at;

If the above link didn't work, then maybe this one will?

Special needs adoptions are quite derigeur these days for the aristocratic ruling elite...the russian wolfhound of the new millenium.

Well I do have two Jetskis and a homebuilt rowboat, but I am truly happiest when at home in my shop tinkering and boating requires spending weekends away from the shop...... Still.... A boat would be fun for a few Saturdays or Sundays a summer with my wife and kids on the mucky Maumee river 10 miles away. My kids would definitely enjoy spending time with the parents if waterskiing and tubing is involved.

Awesome Rob!!!!

I still remember fondly learning to waterski behind dad's little 18' Glastron in the good ol' Maumee River when I was about 8. I also vividly remember the first time he convinced me to "drop a ski" and start slalom skiing the first time. Rates right up there with my first solo in an airplane in the old memory vault.
