DC's "It's A Long Way To The Top" is my favorite song of theirs...But I would not classify it as the best ever..
I would think that for a song to be the "BEST ROCKING EVER" it has to be played LIVE and LOUD.... MY honorable mention list is "I'm Going Home" ...Ten Years After...performed at Woodstock "Thirty Days In the Hole"...Humble Pie Live "Who Knows"..Band Of Gypsy's... "Alive And Well"...Edgar Winters White Trash "Young Man Blues"..The WHO..Live at Leeds. "Soul Sacrifice.." Santana..at Woodstock... But the Best of the Best is down to 3 choices.. 1. Jumpin Jack Flash..Stones..Get Yer YA YA's Out from the 1969 American Tour 2. Midnight Rambler..Stones ..Ditto 3. Sympathy For The Devil...Stones Ditto And the winner for the Best of the Best of the Best ISSSSS.. SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL And why is that my choice....cause...no really.. somebody got themselves murdered after that song was played at Altamont... As Jagger said about that song...that audiences always got a little weird after they played that song...and talk about stirring up something primitive...and being hypnotic Now I would say that the studio and later live versions don't compare to that moment in time in 1969. One has to watch and listen to those performances... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yayclsjIW38&feature=related

It's a natural reflex for me to crank the radio knob up when I hear the opening riff to GnR's "Paradise City." That song ROCKS!!!

Just a tad more "rocking" than ol' Chuck's version.

I like The Cult, but one of my fave "most rockingest songs of all time" is "The Core" by Clapton
But there are tons of great "most rockingest songs of all time" Sympathy for the Devil Behind Blue Eyes My Wife Back In Black Twilight Zone (When the Bullet hits the Bone)

No mention yet of ZZ TOP!
It is hard to beat La Grange. It has to be near the top of the list. My other favorite has been mentioned, Highway Star, by Deep Purple from the live album Highway Star. I play that on the way to every autocross. It is one of the best "go fast" songs ever.
